In lore, its stated that the COTL is always shifting around, causing people to, y'know, get lost. This isn't actually the case ingame, and it would be cool if the various paths around canyon closed off or led to different areas over time. None of the important locations in the canyon would change, but the paths you need to to take to get there would be somewhat different.
You will ignore how this would get annoying fast, and you will instead think only about the cool factor

So much work, so many bugs. Would be cool if it actually worked, but because it would be just about the most broken mess ever, no.

yea no, the dev team would have to make sure each location is still accessible and i think that's too much to ask
though maybe subareas could be used in some way to convey the shifting?

the "easiest" way to do this that i can think of off the top of my head would be to build 3 or 4 slightly different canyons (not moving any major structures, just paths). roll dice on which one to use each update. changing it every single time they push the map would be a Bit Much, but even the canyon shifting every couple of months/year or two would be enough to disorient most players & provide some of that sweet lore intergration, methinks.

in practice. this is still a lot of work for at best a minor neat feature. very big buck. little bang. probably not a great idea, sorry.
(though players being annoyed by things is absolutely a feature)
