Im about to unlock all tome slots on a 4th class and I have some feedback about it :)

The above tome slot is a weapon tome slot, and it requires the player to level up professions a decent amount.
    (Total Level 300+)
The below tome slot is a profession tome slot, and it requires guild wars to unlock.
    (10+ Guild Wars)

Tome slot unlocks are currently designed to encourage the player to engage in different game systems. This works well generally, but in this case, we all agree that professions are not enjoyable.
I would appreciate these requirements be swapped as a temporary fix until a profession rework is released.
The reason people would want to unlock the weapon slot is not only extra damage, but also because it is sometimes required to be able to wear certain builds.

Here's another way to look at that total level 300 requirement:

That tome slot requires at least combat level 80 to unlock, so that means that the maximum total professions level necessary is 220. There are 12 professions, so in order to reach that total level, the average level for each profession must be slightly over 18. That's a very low requirement.

Also, if a requirement swap is to be done, then it should be a 3-way swap, with the 15 raids requirement for guild tomes to be switched to the 10 wars requirement, the 10 wars requirement switched to the 300 total level requirement, and the 300 total level requirement switched to the 15 raids requirement.

I agree the level 300 requirement isnt that hard to achieve, but my point is that everyone agrees that profs arent good and we dont want to push players to do them. Id change this as a temporary thing until profs are better, even though its not that important to do.
I also agree that moving the guild war tome requirement makes sense for a similar reason.

well it still applies, profs are still annoying to do and some of the placement of the requirements don't make much sense

I can't stand the 300 requirement for the weapon tome 2. It doesn't even serve the purpose it's supposed to; it doesn't make me engage with different content, rather it makes me speedrun ~20 levels in skills I will literally never use again. I'd rather have that be the requirement for a gathering tome, since that actually is something that someone actually using their gathering skill will likely get over the course of their playthrough. Forcing people to level skills they only use for an arbitrary requirement only serves to make people like the thing they're doing less, and makes the game worse for it. What it doesn't do is encourage them to engage with a system or ability introduced by the skills, because they're actively trying to do those as quickly as possible and to skip the actual gameplay of them.
I also don't much care for the guild war requirement, essentially saying that you need to be in a guild to do professions, which is honestly really annoying. That makes professions even more annoying to do, because all it really means I have to waste time suiciding in guild wars if I ever want to do that again. Locking 2 tomes behind guild stuff, that the average player may have little to no control over is really annoying for those of us who aren't in active guilds. Why not just use that as a requirement for the guild tome?
There are other issues with tome requirements, but those two are by far the most egregious.
