Hey everyone. I've been doing lootruns recently, and have been enjoying the mechanic very much. I am also color blind, and have had many issues differentiating between different-colored beacons.
Of course, there are many types of color blindness. I personally have a lot of trouble differentiating purple/blue, aqua/grey, and light grey/grey. This means that many times, instead of getting the beacon reward I was expecting and planning for, I'd get something else and instinctively face palm. Other times I'd realize last minute I'm at the wrong beacon and head back.

There are multiple possible ways to deal with this. For one, adding more contrasting colors would help. For example, black isn't a beacon type, and could replace a different color. This solution isn't perfect - different color blindness affects different colors, and Minecraft doesn't have that wide a range. Still, adding black instead of one of two similar shades would be greatly helpful.
Ideally, every player could choose their own beacon colors. This however does seem like a pain in the ass to implement lol.

Imo, a general solution that could work is having an optional aesthetic where the beacons flicker different colors. For example, a blue beacon would flicker once every few seconds white, so you could tell it apart from a purple beacon that flickers black every few seconds. I suggest this because to my knowledge such a mechanic exists in the rainbow beacons.

Instead of replacing colors, we could always port over a feature from Wynntils where it'll tell you the location of each beacon.

sure. whatever works. I don't think it'll hurt to have some text above the actual beacon location reading "[color] beacon". A simple named armor stand would do the trick.
