Game Mechanics [Conflict w/ Heat Death & Sentient Snake] Alternative Suggestions

Because Heat Death has the effect "Flash Freeze" which makes ice snake instant (and freeze for a second), it conflicts with the sentient snake ability on the tree. I was hoping as a community we could try and find an alternative functionality if they're paired up together. The best I got atm is a set of predefined movements you can choose from, or just having it trigger in a circle that shoots outward instead of just a straight line.
