    Greetings, forum dwellers.

This is a bit complicated, so let me explain. Lacerate has two “jumps” in the duration of the ability. When you cast it, you immediately get boosted forwards, and a few seconds later, the other boosts you almost straight up. There isn’t really any huge issue with this, though, and honestly what I’m trying to change with this suggestion is not a game breaking problem that makes playing Acrobat horrible and wretched in every way.

But anyway, if you’ve played Acrobat and flown around a little, you’ll notice that it’s very slow compared to other classes’ mobility, namely Warrior and Mage, even though it is the most complex. I made a thread on Discord a while ago that basically just said, “make Acrobat fly faster”. There wasn’t really a good way to do this, though, and anything to help make it faster while flying would require a lot of dev time. However, I think I’ve thought of a fairly easy and straightforward way to make it just a little quicker.

Lacerate’s first jump, the one that boosts you forwards, has the extra effect of completely halting your vertical momentum at cast. This means that if you are falling off a cliff, you can just cast Lacerate and completely stop yourself mid-air for a second. This is great, and definitely helps with Acrobat being very good at fighting in the air. However, it also locks your speed horizontally. Every time you cast Lacerate, a spell that is required to fly effectively, it locks your flying speed down to a pretty low amount. This means that, no matter how amazing you are at casting Dash and Hop at the right times, you simply cannot gain more speed than that which Lacerate gives you. At least, not consistently. The same goes for Hop. It seems to fix your flying speed similarly to Lacerate.

You can try it out yourself, too. Go to the Throwcloud by the Sky Islands Exploration lootrun camp, and jump on it. As it’s throwing you towards Ahmsord at an insanely fast rate, cast Lacerate. You’ll see immediately how much slower Lacerate makes you.

So, what I’m suggesting here is to simply increase the horizontal velocity of Lacerate and Hop. Hop already has something similar with the Lunge Major ID, and a similar mechanic being used for Lacerate too would be amazing, and would have great effects in making traveling with Acrobat much faster with just a simple change in numbers.

Thank you for reading, remember to vote in the poll, and I hope you have a nice day/night!

I agree with the post but don’t all spells slow you down while on a throwcloud

Uhhh I don’t know exactly, but at least Charge and Escape have a good amount of momentum so casting it doesn’t set you to a speed of 0.1 blocks per second
