Why do ability points have to be restricted to levels? It is a better idea to have it tied to manual skill points so you can choose what branch of the ability tree you want to invest in. This way you could improve your ability tree much faster. Now I know what you are thinking, well 2 of the archetypes will need 2 skill points while one only needs 1. This is where I propose the idea of 5 classes. one for each Wynncraft main element (possibly a 6th one once you complete the light realm questline and a 7th once you complete a hunter's calling or later future quest). There would be 5 (or more) different colour ability points that correspond with each archetype. You would be able to invest only elemental-specific ability points into each ability, however, I think some abilities might benefit from being in one archetype but requiring 2 types of points. For example, arcane transfer would require earth and fire or sunshower requiring fire and water. All 4 spells would be changed in a way that gives you 2 different ones that block each other. For example, getting the storm spell (more info later) will block Ophanim. Potions and armour will not give you any additional ability points. The 4 spells for each archetype will also deal element-specific damage (depending on the archetype) to mobs in the area. For example, heal will heal and deal water damage to mobs. There would be common themes between the same elements for each class. The following list relies on a second idea of mine where some of the skill points change elements fire would become strength and earth would become defence. Water would be a support archetype that is mainly used for giving buffs to allies and healing allies. Fire would be a high-damage archetype that deals with high AoE damage. Earth would deal low damage but have high damage reduction and shielding abilities. Thunder would do lots of damage at the start but as the fight goes on will start to get weaker, meaning that it would deal less damage and take more. Air would get stronger as the fight goes on but start off weaker. You would be able to learn abilities from all archetypes but lots would lock out others (due to the fact that many would not be compatible). You might now be thinking that the abilities would reset every time you changed your skill points and so I propose that you can only reset skill points by using the ability shards to forget the ability points and start a new path.

If I am reading this correctly, it seems that this would drastically lower build variety and creativity. Limiting elements to one archetype would ruin many if not most ways to make meaningfully different builds for different classes. Likewise, requiring specific skill points to use an archetype would ruin the ability to play around with unusual builds. Also, I don't see how this changes ability points being tied to levels, nor do I understand how that's a bad thing.

I barely understand this idea but i agree with the first comment. This would make it impossible to get abilities from a different archetype higher up the tree as the progression would be 100% directional

I'd say one part of the reason why your post is hard to understand would be how its just a wall of text and isn't broken up into paragraphs. Enter exists, use it.
