major id ideas

    sonic wave:

    aura is instant and pushes all mobs within the aura (sphere) to the edge.

    rebound is normal speed and the “aura dragging mobs” mechanic is removed

    and for 2 seconds, no mobs can enter the sphere (projectiles and stuff still can)

    mender’s effigy:

    totem’s healing is doubled but all damage from it (aura and totem and maybe haul damage) are halved

    major ids add uniqueness and different playstyles to the game

    rather than common and repetitive gameplay

    also mos with kb res are unaffected but can get stunned by the ids

    yeah so thats why these can improve game
    makes it less mundane

    do you like playing the exact same on every single build you use, whether it be morph or stardust-libra-anxio

    Disclaimer: what you are about to hear comes from a guy who knows next to nothing about classbuilding, so take pretty much everything here with a grain of salt.

    Honestly these are actually alright ideas. Kinda blends in with other effigy major ids, but these aren't actually that bad to me.

    A build based on poison id can have a very different playstyle than a mana regen build, which in turn would have a distinct difference in cancelstack builds. You can still make gameplay distinct without involving any major IDs.

    the unfortunate flaw in that is people choose not to due to the horrible reliability and output

    and yet those same people complain about bad gameplay (i have witnessed it firsthand) - because the other types of playstyles have been nerfed out of their “fun” zone. we want to see high numbers (although balancing is definitely key to maintaining a great game)

    so to add more flavor to the game, either
    A: buff old playstyles like poison
    or
    B: add new ids and stuff

    and im just suggesting ideas for approach B
    each class has very few playstyles. 3 archetypes with mix-and-matching that adds 4 more different gameplay styles, each of which are very reminiscent of the archetypes they are derived from. that doesnt add much flavor does it?

    so what do major ids add?
    well, ids such as guardian and heart of the pack have been used extensively to aid explorers in their perilous adventures. this adds a new gameplay style apart from left click or spell spam

    saviors sacrifice adds to the spellspam/steal (ive never seen it used with melee or support as a main), challenging players to combine 3 gameplay aspects for a new, riveting experience, that adds fun to the game not just for the player with the major id, but also players who are benefit from its boosts, possibly changing the very way they play by buffing just 2 important stats.

    there are plenty more i could talk about, but i think you, reading this, could get the idea.

    but regular ids work too, and so do new items.
    just look at the heavy melee concept. a whole new playstyle after combining 2 different identifications. nowadays, all combinations of stats have been exploited to their fullest, and very few have been proven “fun” and output reliable results.

    or we can always go with option
    C: just tell people to stfu and deal with it. likely wont do anything
