Game Mechanics Reskinned 2.0 abilities (100% support, 69 votes)

Wynn has 5 cosmetic classes in the game available to donators. This was cool and worked nicely pre-2.0, but now with skill trees and modified skills (spin attack to lacerate, meteor to ophanim etc), only the basic skills will use the look of the alternate class, and that's if you even have non modified skills on your build. For example, after taking the Lightbender lightshower node (think thats what its called), regardless if you are dark wizard or mage, your heal spell will look the same, and you no longer have access to the look of the default. Ophanim orbs, if taken, will overwrite the meteor and the purple fire meteor that Dark Wizard has completely, and regardless what class you have always appears the same. This is the same for Lacerate replacing Spin Attack, going from yellow (assassin) or red/black (ninja) to blue. I can't help but feel like this invalidates most of the point of a cosmetic class.
This is why I propose recolors for each fully modified skill, so that you can still differentiate between the two versions of each class. Doesn't have to look completely different, just a recolor of the particles. For example, Ninja can have its Lacerate in the red/black color scheme like its basic Spin Attack, or maybe purple or something. Ophanim on Dark Wizard could be a darker color to retain that vibe, etc.
In any case I think it could definitely bring back a lot of vibe back to these reskins with potentially not much time invested, considering it would just be recolors. 2.0 is amazing but it really nullified most of the point and value of the reskins.

 

Completely agree, the whole point of having the alternative classes in the first place was for them to look different, at this point they may as well not exist because there is literally no difference. It's to the point where the store page for ranks is literally false advertising, if they're not going to actually reskin the classes then they sure as hell shouldn't be saying that they are.



To be clear, it's not like I personally care all that much but I'm pretty sure it's straight up illegal to put that as a selling point on the store page so if alt animations aren't getting added anytime soon, somebody should probably get to changing that up. It would be pretty shitty to advertise having reskinned classes where the only reskin is the name but at least it would be accurate.

If they made their tools well it shouldn't be all that difficult to do and it's a good selling point for rank so yeah, doing that is a no brainer and I'm shocked 2.0 didn't launch with that.

 

To be honest I expect them to make this change at some point, but it's not exactly on the high priority list right now, especially with Fruma in the works. More people are going to want Fruma versus a spell being a different color. But I do agree that it would be an excellent change that would ultimately satisfy a lot of people

As someone who was/is thinking of donating at some point with the reskinned classes being the primary reason for me wanting to do so at all, it really sucks to hear that 2.0 didn't launch with that feature supported :/ Primarily wanted to donate due to loving dark caster type classes.

Yes, I don't have a rank but paying actual money for a feature that doesn't work is unsatisfactory for lack for better word.
