Remove ones on mountain ranges that aren’t blocking the Silent Expanse. Please.

Invisible walls are (at least in my opinion) legitimately one of the worst and most immersion-breaking mechanics you can add to your game. Invisible walls a) tell the player that freedom of movement and exploration are not allowed except within the artificial confines of what the game allows, b) tells the player that the game world is not consistent, and c) reduces player travel creativity. All of these things are bad (especially the second one, that can absolutely ruin a game) and are easy to avoid, just by giving another reason why it's impossible.

If the player tries to climb a world border, then maybe a barrier is okay. But trying to go over a mountain into the Silent Expanse? Put a wall of "dark energy" or something that does true damage to players in it or something. They try to safespot in a boss room? Give the boss or some minions a way to get at them there. They want to go over the mountains of pigman ravines? Honestly why not let them? It's a pain in the neck and doesn't really get them anything for their trouble.

Personally, I think there are many boss rooms where barriers make sense, in that they're the least frustrating option (compared to e.g. hard to judge boundaries enforced by damage-dealing mechanics). But generally speaking I agree.

That's a cool opinion, and I see where you're coming from,

    but,
why design classes and archetypes to work at range/dodge if all the fights that matter are in small rooms with nothing to dodge behind?

Did you like my cool 1 liner?
    aight, see y'all next eon.

Also very cool that people are bumping and discussing a thread from an ex-player. It's like people actually have an opinion about the topic at hand!

Just as an example, what would you do aside from barriers in the Greg fight? The barriers work really well there in not breaking immersion and keeping the fight clean.
