Website & Forums Force Poll in General Suggestions Threads

I'm sure I haven't been the only person to have noticed this, but many suggestion threads fail to actually put some form of poll for people to vote on their suggestion. While it may not always be relevant, in nearly all cases a poll is the most useful way to show both approval of a suggestion as well as disapproval, without having to take the extra step of either being the many-nth comment simply consisting of "yep i agree" or having to directly tell someone you think their idea is bad.

Ideally it would just be forcing a poll to exist at all, requiring someone to fill out at least two options in it before they're able to post a thread to General Suggestions (not including Feedback, of course). That being said, if it's not possible to force a poll without also forcing specific answers for it through XenForo, I feel like it's not worth sacrificing the option for a multi answer poll for the higher effort suggestion threads.

Please vote on the poll what you think of this suggestion as an example of just how convenient it is to have a poll on a suggestion thread!

For the times a poll wouldn't be relevant, I feel like it definitely shouldn't be forced, but it would be cool to have a reminder pop up the the first time you try to post a thread in general suggestions, like "This thread currently does not have a poll. If relevant, please add a poll."

 

The thing is, I genuinely don't know which situations a poll wouldn't be relevant for suggestions- at worst you just have some feedback about existing content and it belongs in Feedback (though you can also make a "do you agree with me about this feedback" poll and it would be perfectly in place) or you're complaining about a bug, which needs to go to Bug Reports anyway or it won't ever be fixed. Can you give me an example for one of those times a poll isn't relevant in the General Suggestions section?

That would prove your point though.

 

"Add this warning for users from this country because this particular law mandates it" should not have a poll. "Remove a Red Cross symbol from this particular town" should not have a poll (although "Replace this Red Cross symbol from this particular town with a (vote in poll or comments)" should).

That's all I could think of over the past two weeks. Plus, you could try arguing that those examples belong in a private message to staff.
