ARE you tired of wearing the same old diamond armor?

Then say no more with dyed armor. instead of 3d armor we can just use dyed leather armor to customize our armor. This will make armor look good with our helmet cosmetics and weapon cosmetics as we can have black blue green and whatever color that fits. To further customize there could also be enchanted cosmetic which enchants an armor piece with the enchanted armor glow.

    How would you access these?
The same as other cosmetics through crates. Normal colors could be placed in common while enchanted armor could be placed in epic or godly. Some rare colors can also be placed in festival crates like pink for wynnter festival.

Another suggestion on where to access them would be raids as you can have them as rare raid rewards for example TNA can have a purple and black color, while NoL has white and yellow, with TCC having grey and blue.

I'm pretty sure 3D armour isn't possible right now - the reason helmets work is because items and blocks can be placed on the player's head.

I kind of don't like the idea of being able to convert any armour into leather and customize it as it takes away from Set and other pieces that are unique because of it.

Legacy Collectors sweating. To expand, I think a neat idea would be custom Curse enchants - red like in vanilla - with new IDs/abilities. Another MMORPG, Monumenta, has Curse of Corruption, for example.

HOWEVER, I think we could use more unique gear (e.g - non-diamond at ~level 80+). Personally, I like gold the most; I'd love to see a gold armourpiece either usable at or levelled to endgame.

Ik 3d is impossible rn thats why i said instead lol. It is extremely limiting to limit customization to old armor that isnt useable/mostly gainable in any form of gameplay so I really do not care about legacy collectors. Having cosmetics locked beneath items blocks having cool builds while also having a cool looking character. I dont think cosmetics should effect stats either as in this game they probably will be made to be paid for.

3d armors are not a thing yet by default in Minecraft. Helmets are en exception because head slot allows to display models. An alternative would be an armorstand riding the player or something similar but it wouldn't sync to the arms so 3d armour would just be tank tops that clip through the player if he moves too fast.

Dyed armors and enchant glow would be a fucking scam as a crate reward ngl
Plus some armor are already dyed leather.

Now, custom armors can be possible with vanilla shaders, idk if 3d would be a thing but that's a possibility. Since the recommended version is now 1.12.2 it wouldn't be interesting to spend time on this. Idk for performance either, might be a bit crappy.

Now there's an alternative that I used to play with back in... Uh idk between 2017 and 2020 holy shit I'm feeling old now that I realise I started playing when we could connect in 1.8

That's not exactly what you're searching for, and maybe a bit outdated but heh, better than nothing at all.

They work with optifine CIT, so of course you'll need optifine

3D models are possible, but only for helmets since they need extra polygons to be rendered then transformed with a vertex shader. The performance impact would be minimal, as all that would happen is an few extra branches in the fragment shader happening specifically for armor rendering.

Vanilla now has a way to build shaders into a resource pack. They're much more limited than what optifine and iris provide, and it's only for like 1.17+

The shaders I'm talking about are the new "vanilla shaders" that came with 1.17, they are embed in the resourcepack. That's not an addon or other shit, it's literally a Minecraft feature.

Also I never talked about Wynn using optifine, just sent two community-made resourcepacks that add tons of custom armors.

Aight thanks for the precision, guess it wouldn't even be worth it using this method since the existing one is already working

Personally I don't want dyes. I think having unique pieces (like ornate shadow or some quest armours) of armour is good enough, though I guess there should be more endgame to make endgame builds not fully diamond.

wynncrafts gameplay isnt built around having 1 set unless ur using morph or something, most of the time you will be creating your own build out or random gear which will always be diamond armor and even if they replaced diamond gear with different dyed armor it would be a mess with how the item system works. Which is why it would be alot better for everyone who want to look cool outside of standing in detlas to have dyed armor be cosmetic.

I understand that, what I'm saying (which perhaps I should rephrase) is that some pieces of armour (not of a set) should be made into something that isn't diamond to change up the look of some builds that might use these items.

If you mean the contrast between many dyes would be jarring, I agree, and is why the dyes should be applied to a small selection of items (perhaps mythics or fabled only) so that builds only have one or two dyed pieces.

Fair point, but from a cosmetic system I want one that isn't just 'pick whatever colour you want' without any gameplay restriction. I think players would have to earn dyes/enchant glints and apply them outside of a menu in the compass.
