My idea is a map that is stylized, that is a drawing that resembles the world around without being too accurate.
The idea is similar to the antique atlas mod although it being drawn by a person and not auto-generated by a computer.
The map could also be either drawn to the preference of the artist or with a large variety of colors each representing something different. A part of the map drawn in red could mean a high-level area while a green one a safe zone like a city, a gold one could mean an area with a large amount of crops, and a gray one an area with a large amount of minerals, and so on.
The map could be implemented as either a book that you can buy or an option in the menu that every player has from the start of the game.
It would also not be a minimap on top of the screen at all times but something that you have to click on to access.
I am not a developer so i do not know how this could work but an idea would be to have the map not be complete from the start but to have the player explore the world to generate it.
The map would not be generated like a vanilla map (that is generating the map while the player is walking) but to instead have the map divided into sections and generate a new one every time the player arrives at an important destination like a city.
Although hard to implement the map could also show the location of quests.

It's not a bad idea... except you see, I'm not a developer neither, but wynncraft doesn't require any mods and that's the problem since everything has to be made either as plugin or by using command blocks, I don't see how that'd work
Meanwhile, you can access wynncraft map either by using official wynncraft map on their site or wynntils

A drawn map is possible through the ressourcepack. Adding several depending on the discovered areas and just replacing with the right one (like using discoveries as a trigger) would also be possible

Now, this would already require a shit ton of coding, testing and waaay too many images

So just imagine adding quests and interest points...

Definitely not worth it imo, even more since there are mods and a dedicated online Map.

An alternative would be using wynntils, IF by chance the map is stored as a texture and not some other form of data, then replacing the textures with hand drawn stuff could be possible. But idk how this part or the mod works

You can find vanilla maps of various places in and around wynn, such as in Misadventure on the Sea (or Fantastic Voyage, can't remember which), you can see Selchar, Llevigar, etc on vanilla maps in the captain's room

There's actually a map with an isometric perspective in the new 2.0 version of the Purple & Blue quest (very good quest).
