#GiveGavelACoast

When you look at the Wynncraft world map, you'll notice that the province of Gavel is just one rectangle. It has a border of mountains, with only 2 main coastal areas. Then you look at Corkus and Wynn, which have detailed and intricate coastal areas.

Thus, I propose a new initiative: #GiveGavelACoast

I DEMAND that Gavel's bland, mountainous edges be replaced with glorious, golden sandy coasts, just like Wynn!

Efforts have been made in the past to make Gavel's coastline more interesting, such as the new Jofash Docks rework and the addition of a beach at the Light Forest in 1.20. There are a few issues with this idea though. Maro peaks is directly connected to the mountain wall on the Canyon of the Lost, plus Gavel's whole build is based on its mountain walls and removing them would be really weird and would require a large amount of reworks. I don't think the effort is worth an area that wouldn't be used for anything and would just be there to look cool. I also think that if Gavel had a coast it would look annoying and basically be a mirror of Wynn. I think they've done all they should with the Gavel coasts other than maybe adding a long beach path from Llevigar docks to the Light forest beach.

The oceanic change we really need is for the entire seafloor to be remade with more secret caves and detail. It's so bland and ugly right now, and changing it would make the world more lively.

 

If anything Gavel's coasts are too baked into the map in terms of building practicalities and the general vibe of the province. However, some sort of lore explanation, even if it's just a geography-related footnote somewhere would be nice, and will make an entire coastline blockaded by mountains seem less farfetched. The mountains could also use some more flavor on the Ocean side as well.

I AGREE WITH THIS BECAUSE I HATE MARO PEAKS AND IM HOPING THAT A BUILD CHANGE OF THIS MANNER WOULD DELETE (OR REWORK) MARO PEAKS.
