Currently I'm on a 2-year hiatus from Wynn, circumstances of which I won't be explaining here. However, I've been keeping up with the news and am very pleased with how 2.0 is coming along. I'm hyped for the Ability tree, though it might take a while to balance out.

I'm also hyped for the new raid, and it looks pretty rad. I was a prominent raider from the day 1.20 released, and I thoroughly enjoy them, but today I wanted to address end-game content replayability, as well as methods of endgame mythic acquisition, which are currently locked behind menial lootrunning, which I think we could all compare to a job you'd only do for the money.

These topics have been tossed around a lot. Today I simply wish to cover a few of what I believe are the main issues, and one solution I think many players would enjoy.

I believe raid rewards can be better tailored to encourage a sense of progression for those who enjoy raids and have got all of their tomes.

I also believe that the main means of obtaining mythic items need to be diversified and placed in more enjoyable areas of the game.

    Reward Tracks

I'd like to propose a simple way to add a sense of progression to raids, the forgery, dungeons, and even boss altars. I call this Reward Tracks.

For each instance of content (we'll use TCC as an example here), you'd have a reward track accessed by a new menu in the compass UI. There would be multiple icons spaced from each other, with buttons to scroll between pages, much like the ability tree. Each icon would stand for a reward from completing a certain milestone of content completions. There would be different tiers of rewards for different milestones, such as bronze, silver, and gold. The rewards would be viewed and claimed from this menu.

An example for the TCC reward track might be:
    (Bronze) 1 win: 1 LE

(Bronze) 5 wins: x amount of experience

(Silver) 10 wins: Charm of the Stone (this could be a new way of acquiring charms. I know most of them are bad, this is just an idea)

    (Bronze) 15 wins: Black horse

(Bronze) 20 wins: 5 LE, x amount of XP

(Gold) 25 wins: Unique TCC particle cosmetic

(Bronze) 30 wins: 5 LE, x amount of XP

(Bronze) 35 wins: 5 LE, x amount of XP

    (Silver) 40 wins: 5 T3 amps

(Bronze) 45 wins: 5 LE, x amount of XP

(Gold) 50 Wins: The Colossus's Shards particle cosmetic (would look like the shards that float above his shoulders and head)

It would continue like this probably until 100, which would unlock...

(Gold) 100 Wins: Colossal Shard [Lance/Longbow/Staff/Dagger/Focus] (A weapon skin specific to the class this reward track was completed on; this may or may not be received well, but it would be a very rewarding, somewhat prestigious cosmetic for one to earn over a long while)

There would also be a infinitely recurring reward for every 10 clears of a lootbox. This would contain a fair amount of rare/legendary gear of the said level range, a good chance for fableds, and would have around a 1% Mythic chance, meaning you'd obtain a mythic roughly once every 100 raids or 66 raids.

Non-endgame content would cap at 25 runs for the reward track, and 5 for the recurring lootbox, since players spend less time at said content, but it would gives them more excitement to unlock new content, and more incentive to complete each new piece of content they unlock.

While this is just an example, I believe introducing a progressive reward system for raids, the forgery, dungeons, etc. that gave both profitable rewards interspersed by unique cosmetics and a mythic chance would be very healthy for the playerbase.
    • It would reward players for playing deep into whatever content they enjoy for the unique skins and desirable downstream rewards e.g. chestnut horse.
    • It would encourage players to play different content for the unique skins, and add spice to rewards while leveling.
    • It would encourage continued, repeated play of content for a chance at a mythic as well as diversify acquisition of armor/weapons/accessories.
What do you all think? What would be some good incentives for differnt reward tracks?

Damn this is what I get for being lazy. The second thread in a week I've been sitting on writing :despair:

Thought, I didn't think of cosmetics - that's such a good idea! Being able to earn cosmetics from your dedication. A colossus effect already exists from Festival of the Blizzard but I think it'd be fitting if you could acquire it from a milestone number of TCC runs instead. Maybe 50? I don't think that's too absurd for the average player.

Unless I'm mistaken, a lot of staff are against adding mythics to the raid loot pool. I don't think your suggestion is outrageous though.

Is this like a daily or guild objective reward for completing x amount of runs in the reward tracker?

I think some kind of trophy (like Legendary Medallion) isn't too much to ask either? Would be nice to display on housing pedastals or simply in the player's bank.

I think there could be rewards for casual, intermediate, and hardcore players. Less cool cosmetics at 25 and 50 for those who don't want to commit as much time to playing a silly block game. 100 for those who want to show they've been grinding for a while. I also am a huge fan of earning cosmetics through hard tasks in-game. The most fun MMO-RPG design is, imo, one that rewards hardcore players with QoL or cosmetics, and minor stat advantages or minmaxes, while still making endgame-necessary gear available to casual players without a gigantic grind. I think wynn does well at accessibilty, but as for rewarding hardcore players, I think there needs to be more.

I do realize that cosmetics are (mostly) the only thing wynn can sell due to the EULA, and I like that, but we've seen that they're not afraid to make a select amount of cosmetics available to FTP players through Festivals, which I also like, and they also rack in extra $$$ due to getting their cash cows to buy the limited edition cosmetics. So I don't think cosmetics coming from reward tracks would be without precedent, nor hurtful, but something prestigious and desirable to work for that won't give them a statistical advantage over casual players, and that money simply cannot buy, which makes it much more prestigious rather than simply looking cool. A badge of honor.

Not quite, but it might have a once-per-day cap on it. I see how it overlaps with objectives, but thought it might be cool to have a loaded reward chest every couple runs. But hey, that isn't the main point of reward tracks anyway, so they could take it or leave it out of the game.

I like your idea about a trophy of sorts... Maybe a unique trophy block you could visibly display in housing, reminiscent of terraria perhaps. Additionally, I'd like having a cosmetic: particle effect, weapon skin, hat, etc. to be a more constantly visible display of your accomplishment while in-game.

Which reminds me, another reward track that I think would be extremely fun would be an LI track!

OOOOhhh yeah ! I love it, it reminds me of my achievement system suggestion and I definitely think that things like this should be added because it is so simple to create but adds so much replayability.
