World Slice of Life

While this certainly isn’t as pressing a matter as fixing bugs or making the server run smoother, I’d appreciate seeing more signs of life and settling in Wynncraft’s towns and cities. We see houses, inns, taverns, banks, and all of the professions and NPCs that we as players find convenient in a secure resting spot, but we don’t get to see how the people of those towns and cities live their lives. I think it might be a fun project for some of the builders to include restaurants, local market squares, small businesses, and schools all around the map. These buildings could especially be included in cities such as Detlas, Cinfras, Maex, and Ahmsord, where we see a lot of houses with nothing but some furniture in them. There could be NPCs with short lines of dialogue, and maybe some tier I chests could be added too. Of course, this isn’t an urgent suggestion. It would just help with the immersion.

 

I mean theres already some of those, theres plenty of bars, inns, schools, facilities, stores. If you looked around cinfras you could see some. But I agree with having more npcs in those areas.

 

Yeah I think the seaskipper captain right now is probably my favorite example of a regular guy in the game who you occasionally interact with, if there were more characters like him in the cities and towns I'd like that. Detlas right now already has restaurants (I think? I could be wrong) but I think every city really should have one, the cities right now are cool but sometimes I feel like they're just there for players to use them as a hub, so adding more details like these everywhere would be a very big improvement and is one I do think the CT should focus on whenever they are reworking cities.

Yeah but I was thinking about adding it to more cities and making them more interactive. It's not a serious must have or anything, but I think it might be fun! At least, it would be fun for people who are invested in exploring the map in detail and finding little secrets.

There is already a lot of deep details around the map but having more unique interactions and world events could be really cool.

 

on one hand it would be really cool
there could be mini quest-like things that aren't really major enough to make it into a real quest, but just a nice way to get some xp and relax from killing eldritch horrors
like... some womans purse got snatched and you gotta chase the robber down in like a minute-long parkour thing and you get rewarded with a couple eb and some xp once you return the purse to the woman

AND a way to maybe make profs faster
i don't do profs so take my suggestion with a salt mine or two
but maybe restaurants/farms/jewelry/smithery shops would take your prof materials and give you a ton of prof xp?

on the other hand
i would much rather have the ct work on stuff like the new ability trees and the nameless anomaly, stuff more crucial to the game instead of a qol feature that might take up weeks of time needed to give more major content than something more minor like this
