Currently, gathering is mostly running in circles and clicking on nodes for hours. It should be diversified.
Here's a few ideas of how I think gathering can be improved:

    • The open world should be utilized, perhaps have a few gathering spots tucked away in places off the beaten path, for example ores in caves, fish in mountain ponds, etc. These spots should have a lot of nodes, but respawn infrequently as to incentivize players to explore for more of these spots.
    • Occasional disruptions to the node-clicking process, like a mini-boss that might get summoned after a node is harvested, and gives gathering xp/materials and ingredients, emeralds, etc. when killed (i.e. sea monsters from hypixel skyblock fishing :dizzy:).
    • Resource mini-dungeons, again utilizing one of Wynn's strengths (in this case the combat)
    • Minigames (to make the clicking less boring)
    • Make the gathering process more social, if possible.

the first idea is already being worked on and the last idea is already there especially in endgame, everyone chats with each other while grinding.

the mini dungeons would be a fun but how do you propose to implement it? raids give materials, do you seek to get mini dungeons to give unique ingredients?
best of all does this change undermine gathering like how the tcc gives high tier materials without the grind of profs

i didn't know that raids gave materials (i've never done a raid before)
so maybe ignore what i said about minidungeons

(i didn't think most of these things through, i was mostly just saying :P
though i'd still like for gathering to be less monotonous)

pvp is very unbalanced right now, and with 2.0 on its way it aint getting better.

I think having mobs appear is kinda dumb, cause they are trying to make prof nodes less annoying and more out of the way so mobs dont annoy you, having mobs spawn would kinda just be annoying.
Having more ways to get resources such as from caves could be interesting tho.

You should give some examples of minigames. Just saying have minigames for them is kind of ambiguous.
