    Despite I decided to make an account on the forums, I've made this topic as detailed as possible.

    The Engineer Class
    This is just my little project

    Some of you may say... "NO!" - this is quite typical for Wynn community, most of veterans are like concrate. But I remember guy who described floating islands and housing year or two ago. And his idea was implemented with some changes into the game. He was like prophet, despite huge flame that some people flooded on that guy.
    I know many of you will not like it - it would be nice to at least appreciate the time I put in even though you may don't like this idea :)

    And yes, I realize that new class is something hard to do, it requires tons of new items, design, balancing, skins, stuff. This is a reason for Wynn authors to have something new for their game-dev notebook, something new to think about, and players to comment or discuss.
    The shaman made thousands of players come back to the game. A lot of them bought boxes, micropayments, skins, again, helping to keep the game going. So why not make plans for the next one?

    Most classes are based on dealing damage in combat. The shaman was something new - a totem. However, his play-style is quite area-based. We've also received an update for pets that can now level up. Why not expand it?
    Also such Engineer Class may be a good way to expand some locations, some old tombs, Moria-styled stuff, despite we already have some of them in Gavel.

    • Every class has it's own unique weapon.

    For me it would be great to imagine this Engineer Class as dwarf ;) With hammer - if we decide to make it more melee/turret based or with rifle that works similiar to archers bow. I think rifle would be much better - with some kind of high damage weapon but with... KNOCKBACK (!) while used. Yeees, this kind of effect after using attack is very easy to do in Minecraft ;) Most classes are just spam-spam-spam the buttons, this one needs a bit more accuracy, as you reload should be quite slow. So this class would be nice as "sniper-type" of gameplay while using default attack - it's slow, but damage is big, and case small knockback.
    But also hammer is a nice idea - as we can make some kind of "job" around our turret to power up some skills. That's also nice idea.

    • So, the first skill... how about turret?
    As an example in the suggestion background I used multicannon from RuneScape. Right now we have pets that will attack enemy that is attacked by the player. Right? Right! Therefore, the turret would be something interesting, combined with other skills it could be something different to use. We just throw the totem at the opponents while playing Shaman, and that's it, and the turret would have different mechanics.
    So the turret should work similiar to totem, but it shoots 3-5 projectiles against enemies in cone shape. It's spawned and works the same way as totem - it will despawn, but will stop shooting if player is too far away.
    It should have quite decent damage as it shoots in cone shape against enemies that are attacked by the player.
    - 1st upgrade - Bullets/arrows should deal small poison damage that scales with STR stat, as usual
    - 2nd upgrade - As our dwarf should be a bit slow, small lifesteal would be quite nice choice
    - 3nd upgrade - While turret is dropped it should instantly shoot heavy shockwave-type of attack when we attack first enemy or are damaged by first enemy

    • Movement skill
    Every class has it's own skill to move a bit faster. Mage is using teleport, Shaman is using haul. Our turret should have option to shoot us in the air. While using movement skill turret should shoot at player and add huge knockback, depending on distance from player. If player is just 1-2 meters away knockback and liftoff should be hard.
    - 1st upgrade - Skill will also apply small knockback to the mobs the turret when player is using movement skill.
    - 2nd upgrade - Skill adds small "stomp" around the player when he lands, dealing some damage to mobs nearby
    - 3rd upgrade - Turret will pull the player from some distance and knock his out in the air, in direction player is looking at, rather than shooting at player with "knockback" dart.

    • Tools Mortar
    Most classes have base - they are tanky, DPSy, supporty. And all of them are like spam-against-enemies, right? Right. So let's make class that is spam-against-yourself to help yourself or team mates. Using this skill Turret will switch to tools mortar, it will stop shooting at enemies but will work like enemy itself. Every "bang" on the toolbox will drop powerup nearby - like small health powerup (5% healing?), small mana powerup (+2 to mana?), temporary speed boost or attack speed boost. Such tool mortar should least ~3-4 seconds so it will not be very OP if people in team will smash this all at once. After that box should switch again to normal turret. So basically tools mortar grants the player or his team members many bonuses, but they are very very short.
    - 1st upgrade - Box is usable by other players too, by default it should work only for the player
    - 2nd upgrade - Box is dropping powerups more often when hit
    - 3rd upgrade - Box have more powerups types to drop, with better bonuses


    • Heavy Cannon
    Well, turret isn't useful if we don't have heavy attack on this class, right? Right. This character should have a bit different type of gameplay as most are just click-spams. How about aiming steady and accurate? Using this skill turret will switch itself to big cannon but will count to... 3... and shoots nice damage in wider cone shape aiming at place where player used this skill. Something like meteor, but in wide cone shape. Damage should be massive as it needs to be directed during 3 seconds and also it should blow up the turret. So as we have class that can attack without spending mana, turret should be "fragile" while using this skill forcing player to spend more mana to replace it.
    - 1st upgrade - Cannon will hit the place with additional AOE explosion
    - 2nd upgrade - +1 explosions after 1 sec
    - 3rd upgrade - +2 explosions after another 1 sec



    I know this is wall of text, but well. At least someone post good statement, eh? It's not like "gimme turret class!", but a bunch of ideas ;)

    This sounds like a cool class! IMO Wynn doesn’t need another class for a while, but this still seems like an interesting idea.
    Some things I disagree with tho like the basing the class around being slow and having slower attack speed. This doesn’t really seem possible bc even if weapons have that the armor all has +speed% and +attack speed, so unless tierstack cannot be done with it (which would be boring) u can’t really limit the attack speed.
    Also the tools mortar should have some kind of cc considering every class has the 4th spell with it (assuming that is 4th as the heavy mortar is the heavy hitting spell and is more fitting for the 3rd)

    just some minor things but overall I think this idea seems very cool

    I like the idea of an Engineer.
    however i dont like life-steal on the turret as it is not really connected to the player.
    movement sounds fun.
    tools box is a nice concept but it would reduce his damage alot i think, maybe too much.
    heavy cannon sounds awesome.

    i dont think the rifle would work well though. thinking of an engineer, he has his hammer and builds stuff.
    knockback hammer would be great.



    an alternative to the tower swapping would be to be able to summon different towers.
    so a total of 3 towers at the same time.

    the only real problem i see is bossfights like orphion where the boss runs around and would mostly be out of range of the turret.

    Looking at other ideas I'm kinda surprised by this welcome approach, this time :D
    I'm working on some tweak, maybe some kind of balances in this idea.

    I love the idea! in games I always go for engi class or abilities, although I don't think it would fit exactly with Wynn.

    (I'm not high enough level to explore the dwarf areas so I don't know the lore all the way)
    So whould we even have that technology?

    the warrior class already has a lot of hammer weopons, it would be confusing for a another type to be added like that.

    and afk farms I feel could be a issue with a turret
