...well, that's pretty boring, isn't it?

As it stands, the daily objective system in Wynncraft is remarkably separated from the rest of the game's content. For anyone who isn't familiar:

    - Your current objective is shown on the right side of the screen.
    - Each day, you get a new objective.
    - Once you complete an objective, you get a chat notification that you click on to get your rewards.

In terms of immersion, this system is... quite lacking, to say the least. There's no interaction with the outside world, no sense of purpose (I mean, who's paying us? And how?!), and ultimately no sense of belonging. The Wynncraft world is full of bustling life, quests, NPCs; the objective system is feeling increasingly outdated with each update that doesn't address it.

Additionally, what if we just hate our objective? We've all felt the despair of seeing "Trade 24 emeralds with a level 1-10 newbie" pop up on our sidebar; it would be great for us to have some measure of control over our objective, even if it's limited (which it ought to be).

Thus comes my suggestion: an NPC in Detlas whose, uh, business, it is to assign and manage your daily objectives.

Where in Detlas? This spot sure feels cozy for him!

No Dungeon Scroll Merchants were harmed in the making of this image.

"But wait! Where does the Scroll Merchant go?!" you ask. No reason to fear; he's made some arrangements to change his location.
    upload_2022-2-12_22-21-46.png
Hey, he's got a Scroll Merchant buddy now!

Now, what would this newfound NPC be in charge of? Here's a quick overview:

    - Giving you your new daily objectives
    - Letting you reroll your daily objectives
    - Being a cool guy to hang out with :)

I could explain all of these points in great length, but aren't videos much more entertaining and informative and time consuming? Let's do that instead.

Here's a three-minute video featuring an in-depth showcase of the Mysterious Dealer. He's an interesting fella. Certainly more interesting than the sidebar popups we get right now.

So, what do you think? Even if you don't like the way I implemented this change in the video, feel free to share your opinions and ideas on making the objective system feel like a real part of the game.

    upload_2022-2-13_6-15-34.png
there was a minute amount of command blocks involved.

also! this post wouldve gone out like 2 days earlier but i got super distracted with writing the dude's dialogue. i gave a bit of backstory, some flavor characterisation, a full bartering sequence...
if you want to read the rest of what i wrote (no i am not coding it in!!!!) i arranged a google doc with all of his dialogue (click here)

    also also !
i was going to write a segment about guild rewards. then i got braindead and forgot to add it (i also ran out of time which is why im posting this like a day later). so here is a quick overview:

    - guild rewards are obtained through a guy in guild hall
    - this time he is probably not a criminal
    - you cannot reroll your gu obj (you have a full week its not that hard smh)

    thanks for reading (part 2)
hope this addressed the question of "if Revamp of Objectives was so great, why don't they make a Revamp of Objectives 2?"

dialogue takes too long, imagine going through that optimally on 10 classes
i think your system would be good for gu, and then just do something faster like a signboard for dailies

the dialogue is actually only this long the first time; if you look at the doc i linked above you see that for every other time it's only like ~8 total lines. could definitely be shortened/compressed though yeah

it's a good idea, my only real issue is that it might be annoying if you've gotta go back to detlas all the time just to manage your daily objectives

    Minecraft:
maybe a command for access the gui when not around the npc (like party finder, when not around the npc the gui can be access by /pfinder) and also put the npc not only in detlas but also in major cities such as cinfras and ahmsord, or the reroll function can just be a command.
This is a good suggestion consider that some objectives are annoying for some of the players (such as profs objective since not everyone do profs) and a reroll with a small fee will be nice.

Maybe it can be a criminal organisation that has an NPC in every mayor city and an introduction quest would be cool too!
