Roots Of Corruption Update Hopefully

Ok I'm thinking of a new Wynncraft Update Called "Roots Of Corruption" Where They Add A New Quest Called "Call Of Corruption" or "Mystery Of The Corruption" close to That And it will let You Access To The Nether, You Can Obtain New Items That Is Only Obtainable In The Nether And It Has New Designs And New Quest That will Let You Unlock Dungeons And Probably Raids too And Probably a New Tier Of items Called Godly That is More Harder To find Than Mythics Also In The Nether Legendary, Fabled, and Mythics Are Less Rarer Compare To The OverWorld

 

I like the idea of the Nether being a new region: bringing a new dungeon, raid, quests, items, and possibly a boss alter or two.

I think a new tier of item would be neat but I'm not sure if it's a good idea? I suppose to add unique items without saturating the number of fabled items this new tier is a good idea. I don't know how I feel about this rarity surpassing mythics in power level. It doesn't seem balanced.

It's entirely possible that the nether being removed means that it'll be added in a later update anyway.

However, most of the stuff you suggested would already have been added anyway, so it shouldn't really need to be mentioned.

Adding a new rarity tier might be interesting, but should really have it's own thread.

One problem I have with the concept itself os that the Nether is... the Nether, world of Insanity. One or the strongest mages (Theorick) who could slow down the Corruption itself returned corrupted and we know how it ended.
How could we do something the smartest and most powerful people could not?

For me, this suggestion is not too great, as it provides very little detail of both gameplay and lore.

Yeah I had an idea for a questline (like the realm of light questline) that would revolve around the nether and bak'al, with him being the final boss of a dungeon. There was also an idea with some sort of god-like entity that is sorta like a "nether beast", except, rather than being corruption itself, he is rather the first thing the light and dark touched in their war, and he is the true mastermind behind the darkness's turn to evil or something like that. It is what Garoth describes as "it..."

Nether better be a place you can conquer in the future.

What? I thought the nether was the realm of war, ie where the light and dark fight in the plane of influence

 

They fight in tons of realms, possibly in every realm (if that's even possible). The Nether and the Overworld are only two of these realms involved in the war as battlegrounds.

To my (longstanding) understanding consulted with other lore experts it is like this:
The Nether is not really special. It is just another world ravaged by the result of Light and Darkness fighting. It doesn't even have to be the first one.
What is meant by the "realm of war" is iirc the Nether, yes, but we consider it a bit of inaccuracy in the explanation (due to it being incomplete).

All in all, even if the Nether was the only invaded realm Bak'al wouldn't be that entity anyways since he came to the Nether after the desolation.

 

I know Bak'al isn't anything special, but I am saying that this entity I speak of is something we haven't seen yet. It corrupted the dern beast and caused it to be "evil" rather than just the enemy of light, as I find the "light=good dark=bad" trope uninteresting.

If you have a force that appears to be only evil, never constructive, only destructive, like the corruption, that should be the main antagonist.

It's been a year since I did the realm of light series and I have never entered the silent expanse, so yeah I don't know all the lore.

This would make it literally Corrupted, but Dern beast is just Dark as far as I know.

Either way, you still wouldn't "fix" the Corruption because killing one powerful individual won't kill the whole "hive" (except this hive has no queen).

Also, as much as I agree with you that the trope you mentioned is boring, in my opinion "Corruption is actually behind all the evil" is worse. Right now it is mindless, chaotic, with no plan or agenda, being a simple byproduct of bigger war.
The best end would be probably a way to "cure" the Corruption by undoing its source.

The Problem Is That The Nether Is Canonically A Place That Nobody Can Go Without Either Dying Or Becoming Corrupted And I Am Honestly Surprised There Is No Barrier Preventing You From Going To The Portal

Raw strength doesn't equal magic or ice magic, which he used to fight the Corruption.
Also, in that fight we are not the player, but a creature created by Bak'al.

 

Fair, but if we were fighting each other, so wouldn’t it make sense for him to use all his power including ice
and magic? (Ok that is a bit of an weak argument)

but for the creature created by bak’al part, I feel like we have the same stats and we deal the same damage, so wouldn’t it be fair if we are basically the same strength that we are asa solider?

 

that actually means Corruption is even more powerful

a) no, (at least imo) it makes no sense story-wise
b) pure gameplay
