Skien in AHC

I believe that there should be a scene in A Hunter's Calling dedicated to General Skien.

How it might play out:

Bak'al attacks Troms
You are a corrupted
You sneak into Troms
Make your way to where Skien is
Fight with General Skien (though not kill; he is too cool for that)
Bak'al lays waste to Troms
Skien is exiled

Skien does not receive as much appreciation as he should. Adding a Skien scene in AHC would help fix this, and I think that it would be a fun scene to play; a good scene to add in terms of gameplay.

 

Replace AHC guy with Sotqin.

Serious answer: No. AHC is supposed to be a trip down memory lane, showing alternate versions of quests you've done or events you know could happen. There is no Skien quest, the closest to that is the boss altar. Should there be a skien quest? Yes. Does it fit into AHC right now? No.

I agree. If they made Skien's backstory more prominent then this fight would unironically be one of the most badass moments in the whole game, especially compared to the easy rune swapping quiz we have right now. If Skien was portrayed more clearly as a general who ultimately went down the wrong path and lead to the... non ideal situation he is in at the present time in the game, something like the jungle lore revamp proposed by the wynntheory people, then a segment set in the past where you get stopped by Skien on your way to freeing the corrupter would just be awesome. I'd vote yes on this unironically, especially if it comes with Skien's lore being made more mainstream.

Skien wouldn't die though, he would be seriously injured and run away. His lore states that a character named "Sotqin" was his friend and almost killed him after getting corrupted during a siege on Troms. This gave him trust issues and he slowly went insane, eventually moving to the military base on the island near Selchar which would come to be known as Skiens island. He and his troops were followed there by Sotqin's corrupted spirit which then spread corruption on the island. Skien wasn't treating his troops very well judging from some disturbing signs in his castle, and their dead bodies were corrupted by Sotqin. Eventually, skien himself was killed and corrupted

Almost. Sotqin wasn't a close friend of Skien's, just a member in his platoon, and Sotqin didn't specifically try and kill Skien, he just attacked the platoon as a whole which prevented them from defending against the siege properly.

The idea of Sotqin attacking Skien directly is more of a lore rework thing, but even there Sotqin is just a random scout.

If Skien was made into a more prominent character then having him in AHC would be much more of a trip down memory lane than the tone breaking and honestly corny section we have in the jungle section of AHC right now
