Game Mechanics AFK protection

    There was yet another "I died over and over while AFK and lost all my stuff thread today. There are many seemingly obvious and simple ways it could have been prevented but it has not been addressed. Seriously. This game is over 8years old now.

    Since no solutions have been implemented, I will provide some suggestions in case the reason was a lack of ideas.
    Possible Solutions:
    If a player hasn't moved in the last 5 minutes, automatically /class or /hub them. It really shouldn't be that hard or intense on the server, just check every minute or so for each player.
    When a player dies, automatically /class them so that they have to choose before going back into the world
    OR When a player dies, give them the vanilla minecraft respawn screen so they have to choose before going back into the world
    OR When a player dies, teleport them to a black box, and give them a seaskipper-like prompt that lets them choose which of the recent places they've been they would like to respawn at.
    This is the worst option, and has sort of been (poorly) implemented with guards at entrances. Just put an invisible ghast or something at each entrance to a city with guard AI, CCI, and a ton of damage and attack speed. It would still be an improvement.

    Afk protection - People afk for other reasons. like waiting for a rare mob. Probably make this toggleable as not everyone wants this.
    Player confirmed respawn - Like above, make it a toggle, not everyone wants it.
    Safer cities - Hmm, probably make them onetap mobs? otherwise they can be used to assist in mob grinding

    obviously, this would be necessary. the reason he mentions attack speed is so that the guard can handle groups of mobs. this technique sounds good but does suffer from limitations: clearly, the number of mobs it can handle is finite, and i'm not sure if stationary melee is easy to implement.

    In regards to the safer cities portion of this, would it be possible for a region to be set around cities that automatically de-spawns hostile mobs?

    No, alot of mob spawns happen near cities. The only city not affected would probably be kandon beda, due to its elevation [llevigar being the same for half the city] and olux which is already a safe city.

    IMO, going afk without dying is pretty easy. If you get on top of a tree or just a little higher than usual, you're typically pretty safe (I've done it plenty of times).
    I, personally, would feel like adding player confirmed respawn would totally kill the flow. I die frequently, especially on quests, and if I had to somehow toggle a respawn, via /class or the vanilla respawn screen, I would get very annoyed, and it would cause a rage quit.
    I have heard talk of soul points being reworked in the future, I think that's the best option. Maybe cutting the regen time?
