Adding a dislike button

SO i feel like adding a dislike button would help people who dont add polls/dont know how to add a poll to their threads know that people dont agree with their post/think differently.

The problem is that new forum users having their posts disliked will likely discourage them from posting, causing the number of active forum users to shrink dramatically.

 

We haven't really needed a dislike feature in the forum's history, and I don't see why we'd suddenly need one now. While dislikes can have some use I feel like they'd primarily end up being used negatively or as Sir_Doomed stated, end up discouraging to newcomers.

 

I also feel like a dislike button discourages converstions and meaningful discussion.
When I can just dislike something, instead of typing a reply explaining why someones stupid, well. Plus, having to explain ones own opinion helps them think through theres enterily.

Plus, we can kinda see how some people use suggestion votes, alot of people vote no for litterally no reason, dislikes just kinda make that every post.
