I don't think I've done the current version of this quest before, or at the very least I didn't mention it in a thread I made a while ago about my thoughts of the new/reworked 1.20 questions. Anyway, I enjoyed this quest much more than I thought I would. Whoever wrote the dialogue for this quest . . . they did a brilliant job at it; it certainly got a few sharp exhales from my nose out of me. Even though we probably never will see most of these characters ever again, they all had strong voices, yes yes.

I liked how the . . . relationship? between Villagers and Humans was shown in this quest. ("Go kill someone's Wybel for pocket change." ;-;) This quest genuinely made me feel like the villain in the story, seeing how Villagers see Humans as inhumane (haha) mercenaries who will kill anything and anyone for a bit of money to line their pockets, and how the quest's antagonist had a point. The commonly used trope (inside and outside of Wynncraft) of the bad guy first throwing a bunch of minions and bodyguards to attempt to kill the protagonist/player was subverted a bit here, in that the quest's antagonist genuinely cared for and knew those guards, and wanted to avenge their deaths. (One of the comments they made, "What are humans made of?" made me wonder why exactly Humans are much better at fighting/magic than Villagers. Although, considering that the player has easily defeated Human bodyguards as well, maybe the player is just some unicorn prodigy with a head on their shoulders and the common knowledge to not talk to strangers or go chasing after whoever harvested your organs.) And with how the player blew everyone up at the end . . . . Wow.

The inclusion of Lari was a small but nonetheless nice touch. It makes the world feel more . . . real, and less as if the player is the only one with agency in the game. Another small thing, but I noticed that the spider cave was less annoying to navigate. The classic antagonist "monologue" actually didn't feel very out-of-place or forced to me, as it was part of the quest's antagonist's character that they were eager to explain their discoveries and inventions. Their diary/notebook fleshed them out a lot as a character. Wynncraft is definitely getting better at writing them!

The only main complaint I had was how the mining part at the end felt forced in there, and that because of that, the player has to level up their mining skill to 15 to even start the quest,* which even though it's easy to do that and takes next to no time at all, it's still annoying.

Regardless, great quest, and it's definitely up there on my list of favourites.

    * I don't know if you actually need to have mining level 15 to start the quest, or if it's just needed to finish it/get the "something extra" the starter NPC was talking about at the end, but the quest didn't appear as available in my quest book even when I was the right combat level until I reached mining level 15, so I am assuming that it is required.

Yep, you need to have it before you start the quest.
