As someone who has tried and failed to get two friends to play wynncraft as they quit after the first 5 levels, I really feel like the game needs some sort of new way to impress new players and make them more likely to continue playing. I think a great place to start would be this idea: Town Discovery Cutscenes.
Upon entering a town for the first time, the player would be put into a cutscene where the player is shown the town and its surrounding area via teleports and cinematic gliding.
(Credit to @Samsam101: it could also show quest npcs, important shops and hints at secret discoveries)
After this, a title and an action bar would be put on screen. For example:
    Detlas
    The Wynnic Monument
    These cutscenes would:
    A: be skippable.
    B: be togglable.
C: only happen when at or above the city’s level range.
D: hint at the activities/quests that will be done at that level range (e.g in Almuj, a close up shot of Sandswept Tomb)

    These cutscenes wouldn’t:

A: Exist in extremely minor settlements (like ternaves, bremminglar, ravine village and Bucie) which have very few or no quests associated with them, with Eltom as an exception due to its decent importance in the lore, and the fact it would make “The Hidden City” even better than it already is.
    B: Trigger during PvP.
I think this would be a good addition for multiple reasons.
    1) It establishes a new level range/ discovery of a city very well compared to a simple introductory quest or discovery lore*. A new player could see the ice barrows dungeon upon the entry to Nesaak , get curious as to find out what it is, and therefore squeeze a little more playtime out of them.

    2) It is a clearer indicator at the location you are entering.
For example, let’s say a level 10~ player opens their quest book and sees “talk to x in Detlas”. The player could easily get confused as to what it is talking about, as they might have been distracted upon discovering Detlas, or simply forgot. A cutscene would very easily imprint the name and aesthetics into the players head, making them much less likely to get confused.

    3) It’s just pretty sick! This kind of thing is what I’d imagine in non minecraft-mmos, and returning to my point at the very top of the thread, it would amaze new players and make them more likely to stay.

*Discovery lore would not be removed, just shown after the cutscene.
How long would they be? 20-50 seconds, depending on the size of the town. The time wouldn’t be a detriment as the cutscenes would be skippable

So what do you think? Vote in the poll /\

Maybe add it for each major area? So when you enter the swamp it triggers, instead of you having to enter Olux.

that is a good alternative idea, although finding the defining borders for each region would be quite time consuming.

I think it'd be cool if it showed some quest NPCs, some important shops and, for towns with secret discoveries within them, hints at how to get the secret discover(y/ies)

Could be good for immersion, though how long do you want the cutscenes to be?

Also, to the people who voted no, what part of “explain” do you not understand? Why vote no if you won’t give reasoning
I’m not salty I got a negative vote, I’m salty I can’t improve my thread.

I'm all for this, just have a quick question - Would this be for every major city (Ragni, Detlas, Nemract, etc.) or for every settlement (Like Maltic, Bremminglar, Dujgon & Nodguj, etc.)

please no unless its toggleable. Its a rly good addition for the people that are first playing the game but its just a waste of time for endgame players. Also, maybe not for every discovery since that would be a lot of work to do for staff but maybe for some major discoveries vould be cool

While I like the idea for the explortion side, specifically in generating interest.
I feel like a good aspect of this you didn't touch on is it's potentional ability to teach players the layout of towns.

That being said, I feel like the actual effects of these would need to be tested.
Don't get me wrong, they sound cool as hell, but as a game designer I can't help but think about how this may fuck with player physcology. Really only some test can tell.

Would be a lot of work for the content team, but I think it'd be worth it, especially since it'd give them more experience and practice with making cutscenes since the current ones, while pretty neat, are often kind of choppy and the combat is really slow paced. Aside from that it's just a cool idea in general. Assuming that like you said, it'd only play for major towns like almuj and nesaak and whatnot, it'd establish which towns are meant to be "hubs" or "bases" for the player and which ones are just there for the atmosphere and worldbuilding.
    How so?
