This thread is going to devolve into a string of put-downs so I'm mercy killing this thread with a semi-extensive reasoning as to why Mage is fine and does not need a buff:
    1. Heal. This one spell makes Mage the single most busted class in the entire game. Well, not the most busted, but you get the picture - a class that can near infinitely sustain itself as long as it has enough mana (or access to King of Hearts as an off-hand). With Heal, you not only improve your own survivability, but of those around you as well. It is so powerful, it defies conventional class strength logic. There is a reason why Mage class is a must have in raid parties.
    2. Meteor is more powerful than you give it credit for. It is one of the best damage spells in the game, even though it requires a full second to fall down (0.33s with a certain Mythic wand). 500% damage is nothing to scoff at, and because of the way Raw Spell Damage works, it means some wands will actually benefit from this quite a lot. Hell, in late game there exist several pretty powerful wands that can go toe to toe with the best weapons in the game (not exactly toe to toe, but it will still do more DPS than Warrior if you cycle properly).
    3. The main attack is one of the most powerful in the game. It is a long range hitscan in a straight line, dealing rather low damage on its own. But remember that there exist high melee damage builds for Mage that abuse its long ranged hitscan to deal ungodly amounts of damage per second. Shaman does not benefit from this, because it isn't an instant hitscan - it's a beam that travels at a moderate speed.
    4. Teleport is bar none the most broken second spell in the game. No exceptions.
    5. Mage's base defense is the 3rd best in the game (2nd best?), which makes the class' already decent sustain even better when compared to Archer and Shaman. Consider the fact that most Mage builds in raids you will see incorporate a high EHP (effective HP, which is your HP after the buffs from Defense and Agility skills), paired with either King of Hearts for pretty much free heals and/or a high damage wand like The Nothing, Monster or Pure.
In other words, Mage isn't as weak as you think it is. Any attempts to buff it like you said will only result in an imbalanced class that dominates the entire game. Hell, I soloed some of the most difficult challenges in-game with a pre-1.20 Fatal/Genetor/Judas build that has both high sustain and high damage.
