Just a few tweaks to the two underused Skills which I'm suggesting. For funsies and for balance!
Feel free to bring up points/tell me if I'm bad at designing these kinds of things!

    Multi-Crits
The idea of Dexterity is that you're going for big funny numbers. And while 200% damage is pretty funny, we can make it funnier by making the Crit Chances overlap!

How it works is: After you get 50% Crit Chance, you would gain a chance to Multi-Crit with any Dexterity beyond that. (IE: 51% Crit Chance becomes 50% Crit Chance, 1% Multi-Crit Chance IF you get a Crit.) A Multi Crit does 400% damage instead of 200% damage!

    Defence is...
...Well, it's awful. In my experience playing, it really doesn't do much at all, and Agility almost entirely outclasses it. I want to say something like 'double the damage resistance it gives' or 'make it buff Elemental Defenses,' but who knows how much that could throw a wrench into the works for the item balance...?

I believe that Defense just needs a buff, and I know that others have probably called for it to be buffed, too. I don't know what that buff should be, but I have an idea of what it could be, at the very least:
    • Raise the damage it reduces for the first 50 or so points you pump into it (lower the decline)
    • Increase the protection it grants against projectiles specifically
    • Make it raise the power of Armor's Elemental Defenses (they used to be really good, can Defense please bring them back?)
Edit: It seems that many people are correcting me on Defense's ridiculous strength...In late game, at least. Perhaps it's only felt underpowered because of my lackluster experience from the game, and that I'm generally still in mid-game.

I guess that Skill Points in general need a minor tweak in the smaller Skill Point levels to make a bigger impact in early to mid game.

Dexterity certainly needs a buff but defence is broken rn. (Agility is a little better but eh)

This is straight up false and I know that many will agree with me. Defense's effectiveness is just as good as Agility's if you look at the numbers, and arguably better since it doesn't rely on RNG and stops you from getting one-shot. In my personal opinion and from gameplay experience, Defense is better than Agility.

Let's take 100 defense VS 100 agility as an example. Both have around 65% effectiveness. To me, having 2/3 of the damage I would take being removed sounds a lot better than (on average) a third of a boss' attacks hitting, possibly even one-shotting me depending on HP and class.

also keep in mind that the str/dex buffs are on their way

Ice Bear says defense is definitely not underused and already strong enough maybe even too strong. Ice Bear highly recommends getting more build experience before making suggestions on skill points.

Leaving intelligence out of the equation since it's just a nice thing to have in general, defence is by far the most powerful stat. Agility removes the chance of getting screwed by elemental weaknesses, but a good tanky build shouldn't have those anyways and the fact that defence prevents you from getting screwed by RNG makes it preferable. Add that to the fact that fire builds in general can actually deal good damage due to courage and there's really no argument you can make that defence is bad. The only situation in which defence isn't great is when you don't have a lot of it, since defence and agility actually get more effective at higher values. But even if you just want to just spend your spare skill points defence is just better than the offensive skill points and still competitive with agility. I'd be in favour of making defence and agility more effective at lower levels, but in endgame, they're just insane. Keep in mind that the difference 75% and 80% damage reduction is that one lets you live 400% as long and the other lets you live 500% as long. It's not really up to debate. Defence isn't underpowered.

Yeah that's understandable and I get where you're coming from. However, tweaking defense to be better at lower levels (lower amounts) would throw a massive wrench into TWF/EWF/etc. balancing. idk how you'd do it appropriately.

we're living in the most extreme def meta that has been in the game so far :(

The dex idea sounds pretty neat

Edit: also yeah def can be ungodly broken. Ie: when your mage has 20k hp and lowkey cannot die to orphion on release as a solo fight because of def/agil alone
