Treasure Maps?

I dunno if it would be able to be done or not but having "treasure maps" that drop could be super awesome! add a shovel to the tool merchant and when one drops you go to x location smack a block with a shovel and boom loot, or a few spots and boom loot

Where would you get this map?
Would it be better than lootrunning? If so, how much?
What kind of items could you get?

 

Could you add a poll? This idea sounds interesting. I will say though that it would be good if they could be really random though, and if they could have slightly more difficulty than just going to certain coords, like maybe reading a map

 

This idea sounds really interesting and cool, it just seems pretty underdeveloped. Some questions like these should be answered:

- How would you get these? Either from a quest, mob drop, etc.
- What loot would be in them? Is it no better than a T3 Loot Chest, or will you get exclusive items that can only be obtained that way?
- How would the Treasure Maps work in guiding you to the chest? Is it by beacons, hints, etc.?

so where to get the maps? Random mob drops or in loot chests.
what loot would you get from them? I honestly wouldn't be able to say I'm still fairly new to this server/game so I don't exactly know what would be good or not I can say for sure that emeralds either in block or LE form for higher level and or tiered maps.
as far as guideance? Maybe have some kind of radar that you would need to put in say your offhand well you're nearby and it beeps as you get closer/face in the direction of said block that you would need to hit.
