    there is absolutely no combat advantage to bouncing into the air after you hit the ground when using haul

    all it does is get you smacked by a mob projectile or slowed down because you can't move for shit while bouncing

    don't even get me started on the fact that it can give you extra vertical momentum because i really don't care, and if you think it should keep the dumb bounce that gets you killed just cause you can go like 2 blocks higher, then i personally believe you should rethink your priorities

    Coming from the perspective of someone who did the Salted challenge on a shaman; the bounce is extremely useful.

    I don't think it should be removed.

    A few nuances I do with the bounce at the end of haul are switching weapons to trigger the bounce earlier in mid air or while doing parkour with haul for extra distance. Haul stops your fall and negates fall damage this way as well my turning your momentum in freefall from deadly to instantly nothing upon nearing the ground.

    This is extremely useful!

    first counterargument - i would consider parkour benefits a bit less important in comparison to actual combat demerits. playing etw glass cannon will make these combat demerits extremely visible, to the point where i would strongly recommend against using it against any serious ranged boss when using etw.

    second counterargument - in regards to fall damage, the bounce doesn't do anything to prevent fall damage, because you're not going to be taking any in the first place.

    in this video, i haul off a cliff at a height that normally would make me take fall damage, but i'm not hurt at all. at level 23, shaman doesn't even have access to the bounce, which proves that it has absolutely no benefits in preventing fall damage.

    The little bounce is so nice though! It gives you a little extra boost which can come in handy during parkour. Making it toggleable would be a fair compromise though, IMO.

    I would say it's fine in mage, unlike shaman it's not as extreme and you don't have any momentum that gets destroyed by it

    Not when trying to teleport onto a small area, I can't tell you how many times I've fallen down on lootruns because tp decides to bounce me forward a block for no reason.

    Mage has it so teleport chains have more flow to them, the momentum boost was one of the best changes in 1.19 because it made mages not feel slow and clunky.

    Shaman probably doesn't need it though since you're not casting haul in quick succession anyways unless you have some insane macros.

    this stupid bounce triggers my ocd every time i play shaman and theres no reason they cant just make particles spread beneath your feet when you land to deal damage instead
