Moderators Specifically For The Wynncraft Discord

The Wynncraft discord as we know it is a hot mess. There are people literally talking about 18+ topics in the #Wynncraft channel for hours on end without being told off unless a mod had time to actually check the discord server or if the moderators were pinged; in which case it takes minutes or even an hour(at most) for them to show up.

A "solution" for this was to add a chat filter, which worked terribly and was removed after a couple hours. This could have been better if it was not just a lazy add bot to server, things are done. Which honestly could still work if it was tuned a bit but as we all know it, there are multiple ways go around these filters and who's to say that players will not find them?

A suggestion which I propose are moderators specifically for the discord server. This means moderators who are actually active in the discord server and can ban/kick/mute and enforce rules on the spot because no one wants to hear another word about people wanting to make babies with the Qira or the bird lady. This will not only be better than having a simple filter thats easy to bypass but its also better than having nothing at all. The only downside to this is actually getting competent moderators that are unbiased and not act on their morals for the discord server itself.

If you have any complaints or suggestions which I will most likely fail to undersrand, put them down below.

If proof is needed of these "conversations" I will be more than happy to provide it.

This was in no way a call out to the staff and it is understandable that the staff are humans too and cannot moderate the server 24/7; it would just be better if there were moderators specifically for moderating the hell that is #Wynncraft.

I'm honestly really conflicted about this.

On the one hand, it would definitely help to make the discord a safe place, and would probably go a long ways towards letting Salted get his precious partnership without installing an authoritarian regime.

On the other hand, I **really** wouldn't wish dealing with the wynncraft community on anyone. Like, if I had to even attempt to install a semblance of common sense and brain usage in the wynn discord, I would lose my fucking mind.

But seriously people spam the chat and when mods are pinged it can take from 10 seconds to minutes for the problem to be solved so having active discord mods who are wise, mature and unbiased would be a good idea

Absolutely agree on the state of the discord's main chat. Rarely does anything inappropriate or completely off-topic get noticed and acted upon. I hope they can improve the moderation presence like this.

 

The wynncraft discord in general is just a hot mess. I'm not gonna comment on the jokes made because humor is subjective, but really, after a certain amount of statements about wanting to reproduce with a fictional character you'd think someone would say something. Take it from the community helper folks.

 

God yeah completely honest. As much as I interact there. The discord just sucks a lot of the time. The mods are great but they're not always there which is the biggest issue.
I definitely agree there needs to be mods solely for the discord because its way too easy to get off topic or just the.... "jokes" being taken way too far for way too long. Also 22nd Feb that incident shouldn't of happened imo, it went on for way too long. (Although I could be remembering another incident) So I think having discord mods around would reduce the chance of that happening again.

 

Literally shocked it's not already a thing. Mods are hard to get in touch with on the server. Had an issue with my rank in the discord, WithTheFish fixed it in like 1 minute after spending 3 days DMing mods and getting no replies.

Not throwing shade, more so pointing out mods already have to watch in-game stuff and they're human so things come up. Should really be some discord only mods that can deal with discord
