Cool Things I'd Love To See Added To Housing!

One of my favourite features added in 1.20 has been housing. It's super fun to play around with and waste your life savings on! However, there are a few additional features i'd really enjoy. Here are some of them:

1: Buttons
I think having access to buttons in housing would be great, but I can see why they weren't already added. Pistons and doors are available in the block shop, so you could use buttons to lag the server. The solution I have is that you could buy buttons but they're actually just armor stand models that go in places where you would want buttons to be (e.g eyes on a statue)

2: Custom NPCs
You know what I said earlier about wasting your life savings? Yeah.. Housing can be expensive... My solution? Custom shop NPCs! These would be limited to HERO rank and above (maybe vip+) and would have these features:

1. Ability to change name
2. Ability to put things on sale with a stock and set the prices
3. A selection of skins to choose from that can be given to it

These would be a good way of making money back from housing since the proceeds would go to you. It also allows for more detail (if you're making a town, you could have functional shops!)

3: Jukebox
This would be limited to VIP+ and above, and would allow you to choose any Wynn song to play on your island. Literally any song. That means that if you really wanted you could burn people's ears off with Countdown to Corruption! This would be good because if you wanted to make some kind of town or city in some area you could add the extra layer of detail that is the music from that region.

4: Custom banners
Banners in minecraft can be used as a great way of decorating your builds, and their lack in housing feels odd. I have thought of a system that could be used for it.

Spoiler: Banner system

Since housing revolves around profs, I decided to make this revolve around profs as well.

The regular banner and colour would cost 16 EB. Then, adding the dyed patterns would cost:

Red dye: Gold
Orange dye: Silver
Yellow dye: Diamond
Lime dye: Dernic stone
Green dye: Willow
Teal dye: Jungle
Cyan dye: Pine
Blue dye: Dernic wood
Purple dye: Oats
Magenta dye: Rye
Pink dye: Rice
Brown dye: Dernic seed
White dye: Salmon
Light grey dye: Piranha
Grey dye: Bass
Black dye: Dernic fish

To stop the annoying task of designing a banner again, you can save a banner design and buy 5x of them again for 32 EB. One of these design save slots is automatically filled with your guild's banner.

5: Armor stand models and heads
Farming and Woodcutting don't have many uses in housing, the main things you want to focus on are Fishing and Mining. So instead of having those 2 have several material types left to rot, how about they get custom armor stand models and heads instead?

Woodcutting would have:
Furniture (e.g tables, chairs, sofas)
Glasses and jars (e.g Jam, water, lemonade)
Statues and carvings

Farming would have:
Crop piles (e.g potatoes, carrots, potatoes, wheat, potatoes)
Plants (e.g magical plants shown in aldorei's secret part 1, bushes, small trees)
Decorative animals (e.g pigs, cows, flerisi, wybels. please note that these would just be animated armor stand models that stand still)

Good idea but i don't know fi the Armor stands would make more lag, but I would like to see this.

I like this but shouldn't be limited to hero+. Hero+ already has the whole island and Champion have build stands both really good features so if this were to be added I would want everyone to have access to it.

Good Idea but should definitely be for everyone since it seems fair as if you don't have this then your island is just eerily silent.

Some of my ideas:
-allowing more builders would be good
-the idea of having crops + water would be cool for decoration
-I would really like to see buildstands or atleast armor stands given to everyone + itemframes
-Path going from dock to non-hero build area
-Might be the only one who would want this but 'statue' mobs, such as generic mobs like 'Citizen' 'Villager' 'Guard' 'Golem' would be really cool for atmosphere; even cooler if you could change the names
-Emerald Merchant added
-Maybe even nodes but I think this should have a limit to 10 at a time, though I don't know, I remember some people discussing it

 

The NPCs are limited to hero and above because it's like a downgrade of merchant stands, a champion feature. Maybe change the limit per rank instead?

As for the jukebox, it's to be an added feature of the usual ingame jukebox. Maybe nons could have just a random cycle of musics on their island as an alternative?

 

That would be better. I was just thinking that you'd actually have to get people to go to your island which can be hard enough as not many people check the public houses, hence why it is a downgrade to merchant stands that should be available to all as they are only useful if people actually turn up.

Again that'd be better but people may not like it if random songs are playing. Unlike the current jukebox, the housing jukebox would only work on your house and there is already alot of stuff for housing which is locked behind higher ranks so it seems logical to give it to everyone - it could just be made a NPC that you have to buy and place down to unlock the interface - maybe certain songs are locked behind different ranks in stead.

 

Emerald and Liquid Emerald Merchant when?

 

I'm a fan of adding a jukebox and banners cause music can be cool to set the mood of the house and banners would be nice to set up some guild representation on your island. However, I'm not so much a fan of buttons + custom npcs. When it comes to buttons, like sammy said, armor stands would probably lag the island out. Would be annoying to place buttons around cause it would screw anyone that doesn't have a good pc over. When it comes to custom npcs, there's nothing wrong with the idea, but the problem is that people have to be on your world to join your island and even when an island is set to public people don't usually join it very often. There'd be no point in setting up shops like this because you'd have to stay on your island and also find a way to get some sort of traffic coming into your island. Could possibly work if wynn set up something where you could visit anyone's island at any time, regardless of if they're on their island and the same world or you as not, but I doubt wynn would actually do this. Even if wynn did do something like that, I still feel that it would be very difficult to get any sort of traffic coming into your island without lots of effort to establish yourself. Overall, I think it'd be better to stick to the TM for selling items (Custom NPCs would probably be cool if they just respond to players when they right click though, would add some personality to the house). But seriously though, would love jukeboxes and banners, and they should probably both not be locked behind ranks.
