    1.20 Quests feedback
edits: "The Hero of Gavel" was added

    Spoiler alert!

Hi everyone! Please bear in mind that the below feedback is from someone who has been playing Wynncraft for over a year, however, I have only one high-level player (level 103 Warrior), which means that I only completed most of the reworked quests only once in my life before the new ones came out. This means I may not remember everything from the old ones, since I don’t play every day and completed the pre-1.20 ones months ago. However, I really enjoy playing the game and wanted to send my thoughts to the content team!

First of all, GOOD JOB! The newest quests (and also 1.19 ones) are so much more elaborate, they use different kinds of effects and features, they are really alive.

(Generally speaking, this is a positive feedback, with some ideas and a pinch of constructive criticism.)

Sometimes I encountered bugs, for these I have posted a bug report which I also link here.

Short quest, but a great warm-up story to discover the secret of the golem factory. I remembered this storyline so I already kind of knew what to expect here.

I liked the story, mechanics, the factory design… good one!

Same here – great addition to the main storyline as well. Before starting the quest, I was wondering if there is a secret discovery - the potato was so suspicious. :D

Not my bug report, but the same thing happened to me: https://forums.wynncraft.com/thread...-lake-dialogue-too-early.282983/#post-3374653

Fun quest: you become a muddy Orc and have to blend in!

My bug report on this quest: https://forums.wynncraft.com/threads/door-did-not-open-reclaiming-the-house-covered-in-mud.283067/

It is one of those quests where you have to look around for items and find out what to do with them. There are a few things that are not really required to complete the quest, however, they can provide useful ingredients or mini-games. I think these are so much fun as the tasks are not linear, you have to explore an area and maybe you find out things in a different order and that gives you some kind of freedom. The area to be explored is just the right size, not too small and not too big.

The sneaking past the guards part was also well designed to be challenging, but you can figure it out after a few tries so it won’t become annoyingly hard.

I encountered a bug, where wall chipping won’t go past 20% but I figured it out. Please see my solution here: https://forums.wynncraft.com/threads/wall-cannot-chip-past-20.283118/#post-3374649

It is a nice quest, the Flerisi collection was a kind task.

I don’t want to highlight anything because all the quest parts together add up to a complete great story. I really enjoyed it and it had great tasks in it!

Although this was claimed to be a minor rework I had a completely different experience now than before! The first time I did the old quest, it took me more than an hour just to beat the one room with the men that are on fire running around like crazy. Seriously, I just couldn’t make it to the top of that tower because the boost always ran out way before and I could never jump up to the platforms without multiple tries, which meant time loss as well. It was so annoying for me – until after a really long while I figured that I could use my horse and make it in time. Even other rooms challenged me a lot. So… I was both terrified and eager to try the new quest and to my delight, it was all like a breeze!!! Thank god.

I think this is a relatively short quest considering the actions my character has to perform - it was more about an introduction of Lari and the related Raid. It wasn’t hard either – however, I did not complete it at level, of course. Maybe it would be more challenging if I did it with a character at level!

Taproot is more about lore and nicely detailed areas for me than the usual Wynncraft quests. However, when you are required to make a decision about leaving, killing the Mayor or killing Urelix, I tried all three ways until finding the right one. I think this is weird because if you cannot decide and change anything, why am I given a choice? Also, I recall that if I choose the wrong ones, I am not given an explanation either. A suggestion: if you tried to make the wrong decision, you could be presented a vision of the world fully turning black and corrupted so that you know this would be a bad choice.

My bug report on this quest: https://forums.wynncraft.com/threads/lari-fighting-the-creature-cutscene-froze.283100/

Again, not the usual Wynncraft quest, more like storytelling and lore. I think if you like lore and Wynn history, this is a nice detailed one and the quality of the scenes is also really great. However, I think such quests should be limited in amount, for when I finally have the time to play Wynncraft, I want to do traditional quests and run around, do my thing, and not so much watching videos. Therefore in the future I would make sure that long cutscenes can be skipped – or maybe it is already a feature, I just don’t know about it. (I remember that I read once that I can skip the cutscene by clicking Lari or something, but I am not sure which quest it was in and if this is a general feature.)

The part where you had to jump on the “snake” emerald blocks was soo hard!! I tried like 50 times, for sure. The jump boost part was fun!

I am not sure about the part where you had to fight Lari. Is it predetermined that you lose x% health, however tanky you are? She dealt a surprising damage considering I am a tanky level 103 warrior! Also, I didn’t really experience the usual health regen on myself, and my damage was less than usual, or at least it seemed so…

I learned a new word from Lari (achara).
The Monolith parkour task was a little bit hard but thank god I succeeded after about two dozen times!
The ending… so sad. Although sometimes Lari was a little too much and a little bit annoying, I felt really sorry for her.

I enjoyed the liana jumps, it was a cool new feature!

My bug report on this quest: https://forums.wynncraft.com/threads/black-box-in-lexdale-witch-trials.283513/

I really liked this one! I enjoyed the puzzles so much, although I probably didn’t figure out all the easter eggs. There was a little black market maths, which was also great as it is an unusual task.

I am not sure why, but when I first had a quick, superficial look on the crafting tables to create flour, dough and bread, I started to look around the area to find stuff, and I was searching for a quest item called wheat grains… *facepalm*. It took me a surprising amount of time to recognize that wheat grains are those things I farm with my hoe when gathering! I just don’t know why it took me so long!! lol

The quest was fun (growing huge plants, finding my way around the elf guards, and of course the ending – I always find those quests interesting where you have to make a decision!

Good introduction for the next part of the quest storyline. It seemed a little bit too evil to ruin the control panel of the shopkeeper though, lol! Ava is a nice character, she does not give up, she is independent, and wants to help others.

Finding the right outfit for Ava was really fun because you need to look for clues and make a decision and you wonder how the story would have changed if you had made a different decision. It was also cool that the Gardener had the information you needed! The mechanics to start the machine (left click or right click with time limit) had to be done a few times but fortunately not too many times so it didn’t turn into a boring repetitive task and thankfully it is easy so you do not have to start over a lot (if at all). The giant plant was fun as it was so huge and it had a unique way of jumping up to the top – not the usual parkour, so it was nice to do something different. It was not a problem that you had to jump up three times, as it is not that high. Also, it is not the same all over again as it gets more difficult when the plant starts defending itself with mobs.

When finishing the quest Ava says that when I return to the Workshop she will be able to give some of her stuff to me. When I returned I found the house empty and only the Consumable Merchant was there. Since he was selling jump boost items, I figured I should jump to the top (inside of the building) to find her or her stuff. I found the Chief and one loot chest, but nothing more. Maybe I was just missing something or misunderstood what she said. Although she definitely did not say „I will be able to sell you some stuff.”

It would have been nice to find something else near the top since I really thought she was giving me this clue. Anyway, it was cool that you had to figure out that you should use the Bipedal Springs here to find the Chief.

I finished the last one today. The Great Siegfried! lol
I was ***SHOCKED*** because "Siegfried" died in the cage, and I expected this part of the quest with the timer to start again, like always if I mess something up, but it didn't!! For the very first time, probably! Oh my god! O.O
I wonder how the story would have changed had I not let him die!! Well, I'll have to wait a really long time since I have no other class at such high level, unfortunately.
I could not get the pickaxe by right clicking it 2-3 times so I left it carelessly at the beginning of the cave... Fortunately, I didn't end up locked in the quest for making such a mistake.
(Also, I did not get the rope from the airship, nor the Mining Explosive.)
However, this was an AMAZING quest, because it seems there are multiple solutions and storylines you could end up in!
    Awesome!!!

I agree with pretty much all of your conclusions.

Some quests received minor changes (Crop Failure), while others got a massive rework (Forbidden Prison). I would say Forbidden Prison then was a forgettable quest, but now, it is hands-down the pinnacle of the Dark and Kander Forest quests. It took some elements of Misadventure on the Sea, while still having uniqueness. Finding all of the secrets is just memorable.

TFFP2 was also a really good quest in Corkus. Not a single part was bad. I really like the exploration through Corkus City, and the boss fight with the Core was so unique. I also really like Ava's character development too, as she seems to be rightfully angry with a good reason, Lari turning on the player in RoL 4 kind of felt rushed and sudden, while Ava seems to finally let loose all of her anger that is building up in her. And again, the secrets. Very reminiscent of Misadventure on the Sea and Forbidden Prison. I also like the Easter Eggs after TFF2, mainly in Ava's Workshop.

There's actually a secret if you keep Siegfried alive. I did that. I'm not gonna tell you if you want to figure it out yourself though, but it's a pretty cool secret.
