Bedrock Support (using Geysermc And Floodgate)

There is a Project called GeyserMC and Floodgate that allows Bedrock Players to join Java Server's (Links Ommited Cause I'm a fairly new Member to forums)

Redstone and stuff are all Java

 

I would rather see them update the packet translator and future block handler than add bedrock support. While this is a definite possibility, consider a few things:

• How would controls work?
• Bedrock can't fetch the java skin textures. All player based mobs and npcs would have to be reworked
• Chat works really weirdly in bedrock and dialogue could easily clutter up the screen
• Geyser only works for 1.16, and wynncraft is run on 1.8
• Geyser is very unreliable and laggy to bedrock clients
• Pocket edition is almost out of the question since phone graphics cards likely can't handle the particles, entities, and complex models

Pocket edition seems to be a bad idea, windows 10 edition would be pointless except for RTX, which would be cool i guess. Console editions on the other hand could work. However, this is a lot of work just so that wynncraft can be played on consoles.

 

Considering how spells are cast and the combat mechanics, not even sure mobile could play it without dying a ton. And what @fishcute Just don't think it's gonna happen

You can't even join on 1.8

 

from what I've heard, the server's "core" is run on 1.8, but it makes you use 1.12 to play on the server

 

I'm not sure but Geyser can be used on 1.8 by using ViaVersion and Geyser Is Pretty Reliable (I don't think Wyncraft should add GeyserMC like now maybe like end of this year because they need to add Lecterns
Near-perfect movement (to the point where anticheat on large servers is unlikely to ban you)

Some Entity Flags
The Following Inventories
Enchantment Table (as a proper GUI)
Beacon
Cartography Table
Stonecutter
Structure Block
Horse Inventory
Loom
Smithing Table and because of Bedrock Limitations they can't add Custom heads in inventories,
Clickable links in chat,
Glowing effect.

Bedrock will be able to fetch java skins pretty soon

 

For the millionth time, Wynncraft is run on 1.8 but you need to be 1.9(?)+ to connect.

 

All blocks past 1.12 are pretty much irrelevant to wynncraft
Iirc, via version just allows older clients to connect to newer servers, but it doesn’t do anything for plugins.
The spell system will probably not work honestly, as I don’t know how they would register right clicks.
Commands work differently on bedrock, and a lot of command blocks are used in Wynn
I also don’t think that it’s worth the devs time to implement this, as I don’t think that it would actually draw that many more users.

no, no no no, and no. Guyser requires a TON of backend work, which could cause stress to devs. it is also very unstable, and with the already bad glitches in wynn bedrock players would just end up with a bad experience.

That's not the point, nor is that how viaversion works (I'm pretty sure wynncraft doesn't even use viaversion anyways), the problem is that they would have to either update the server to 1.16, which would be very difficult to do and probably ruin server performance. Or they would have to make their own version of geyser, which would also be difficult.

 

Updating to 1.16 would be one of the biggest chores for the cmds to do. The command system changes after 1.13, so every single one of the command blocks used in Wynn would have to be changed

 

Redoing the code would be probably much worse

 

similar to hypixel, which runs on 1.7
