World Charon's Related Secret Discovery And Lore [100% Support (12)]

INTRODUCTION :

Lore of Witherhead from Decrepit Sewers dungeon :
It's a bit of a secret and an unknow thing but clues indicates that she is the mother of Bob raised from death by corruption. The clues in questions are "The forces of the Humans could not save me when I hid here, and they can't save you either." and the gravestone of Bob's mother being open and with a trail of black bones coming from it leading to the exit of the A Hero's Origin secret discovery.

Lore of Arakadicus from Infested Pit dungeon :
A big spider being the Queen of the spiders. No much lore but it doesn't need more.

Lore of Garoth from Lost Sanctuary dungeon :
The second (or third) human to be corrupted by entering the Nether through the Portal because he was studying it. Now he is chilling in his sanctuary where he study ways to make corruption dominate/purify the world. Badass.

Lore of Hashr from Sand-Swept Tomb dungeon :
The emperor of the old desert empire still "alive" because of its wand's magic malediction.

Lore of Theorick from the Ice Barrow dungeon :
Theorick, one of the Twains, powerful ice mage, corrupted by entering the Nether, that froze Nesaak to contains corruption and the Ice Barrow to contains him.

Lore of Slykaar from the Undergrowth Ruins :
An evil shaman that got rejected by people in Troms after Bob saved them and that is still alive because he became some sort of god in a strange dimension he discovered.

Lore of Redbeard from the Galleon's Graveyard dungeon :
Redbeard, cool and strong pirate, being undead because of... Pirate magic stuff like in Pirates of the Caribbean ? Ok.

Lore of the Antikythera Supercomputer from the Fallen Factory :
IA created by Corkus people being evil. Simple yet effective.

Lore of the Eye from the Eldritch Outlook :
The eye from the Dern Beast.

If you were attentive, I didn't mention Charon from the Underworld Crypt dungeon...

Charon is a reference of the character in greek mythology that bring people to Underworld after their death. OK. But what is he in Wynncraft ?

In wynncraft he is an evil entity that took over Ancient Nemract.
Although he brings with him an army of undead to attack the city, he doesn't seem to be related with Corruption but with the Underworld realm (which makes sense with his greek reference and with the dungeon name being Underworld Crypt).

In Dark Descent, he is in control of a grey looking realm where you can find the old Ancient Nemract and, more importantly, lost souls. This realm seems to be the Underworld.
The dungeon, the Underworld Crypt, subtitled "Between life and death..." is likely the main path between the physic world and this underworld and can be access with the power of mysterious gems.

Ok but...

In Beyond the Grave, a lvl 87 quest, we die. We die and we go in a grey looking realm. This realm is the Underworld, the Death's realm, and we encounter Death itself.
When someone die his soul is reclaimed by Death and go to this realm. He can leave it and respawn by defeating the thing that killled him.

So... You see the problem... It could be the same realm, one Underworld, yet two different locations/versions. Or it could be two similar Underworlds, maybe somewhat connected, yet differents.

If they are the same : What relations does Charon have with Death and it's realm ? Why did he come to the physical realm ? How did he come to it before the crypt ?
If they are two different : How Charon have those powers ? How Charon's powers and his underworld are related/connected to Death underworld (because if he is able to take souls it means he can claim them from Death) ?

Whenever I'm thinking about one answer, I doubt so much that I think it's the other. And then I think it's the other. And then I think it's the other... Because if they are the same Underworld it would be so weird that Charon (as an evil entity attacking physical realm) exist because it has no purposes for Death. And if they are not, it's just weird how they are similar and how Charon exist independantly and have powers related to this.

In all cases : What is Charon and what is his origin ? Why is he evil ? Why did he attack Ancient Nemract ? Why Ancient Nemract only ? Why at this point of time ? Why ?

For now Charon is just an evil entity with unexplainable power that spawned from nowhere and that attacked Ancient Nemract with no reasons, capturing souls from the citizens to an underworld and created a Crypt leading to it where he is just chilling.

I know that it's just a low level boss for a low level dungeons but when every other dungeons have reason of existence this one lack of explainations, when it has one of the most important and a really interesting lore.
And because wynncraft is all about lore and that I like lore, here we come with my simple idea...
Adding a secret discovery (maybe more ?) fixing this lack of explainations, exposing the lore around the existence of Charon, his powers and why he is here. Adding references of Charon in Death Realm could also help and would be logic when you know the amount of easter eggs there is already in it.

As a self proclaimed Greek Mythology nerd, I think that Charon is actually the one that ferries souls across the River Styx, to the Underworld.

However, the Underworld isn't specifically hell: it’s divided into different “sections” I guess, which are Tartarus, the equivalent of hell, Asphodel Fields, which is for people who lived a mediocre life, and the Fields of Elysian, the equivalent of Heaven I suppose.
There’s also the Isles of the Blessed, which I believe is for people who chose to be reborn three times and went to the Elysian Fields each time they died.

That’s all, I think it’d be cool to have more lore for Charon!

(of course, there are many different interpretations to Greek Myths, so this is just what I’ve heard :) )

I feel like Decrepit Sewers is also pretty underused. Witherhead's character and the decrepit sewers in general have a huge amount of potential, and in my opinion Witherhead the most compelling villain in all of the wynncraft lore, even more than Slykaar or Theorick. But because it's a lvl 9 dungeon she's almost completely overlooked.

I like your ideas about Charon, I had an idea that there could be a cutscene in the corrupted version of the dungeon but apart from that all your ideas are pretty great.

 

I feel the problem is just that some dungeon bosses dont get as much love or any at all, i hope there could be more lore from bosses like aradikus, charon and redbeard, cuz nearly nothing is know about: how aradikus became so powerful, why charon is evil, or why redbeard is alive, i really like this idea and hope is spread to other bosses as well
