Class Idea - Bombardier (read First Paragraph Before Commenting Pls)

    this class's offense seems incredibly delayed, which leads to rage-inducingly poor accuracy in practice since most enemies outmaneuver such spells in the time frames you've proposed. grade 1 mage meteor kind of exemplifies this.

    also i argue that some upgrades on these spells do more harm than good; timed fuse adds the the above issue, pressure wave helps enemies escape your next attack.

    also imo powder keg should apply negative resistance rather than reduce eledefs. it's easier to understand, more useful, more consistent to existing classes and probably easier to implement.

    First actual good class suggestion thread in a while, but I would change something about the tnt spell. Like Qzphs said, the damage seems a bit delayed, so maybe have the tnt go off faster or have an upgrade make it do so (like the t2 meteor for mage)

    Thanks for the suggestions. The main reason I added those specific upgrades is because Bomb Blitz has no pierce. It explodes on the first thing it hits. This means (at least in theory) that a lot of damage is avoided by mobs that are a little behind the first one which can often be the case. That's why I gave it Timed Fuse, so that if there is a mob at the front, it won't tank all the damage and let the ones behind go off safely.

    As for the TNT, I thought of it with the circumstance being surrounded by a bunch of mobs that are aggroed towards you. Here, TNT would push all the mobs back which will group them up to make the most of the other abilities. That said, I can see the delay being too long.

    I could either switch Tiers 3 & 2 around and make Tier 2 like meteors (I don't really want it to be too similar) Or I could reduce the delay of the spell as a whole but keep things as they are now.

    archers bomb arrow is an amazing spell despite it behaving exactly like that

    giving the spell pierce is fine, but adding a timer is a completely separate feature and it doesnt make the spell better

    wouldnt it just spread them out

    swapping tiers wont resolve the issue that some of them are bad

    yeah that was my main point

    Bomb arrow works like that, but it has blocked a lot of the damage before if it hits a lone mob compared to a group of them (in my experience). Often to get the most out of it, you need to specifically aim it so that it hits more mobs. You can't aim Bomb Blitz so that's not an option - hence the timed fuse.

    As I said in the original post, the amount of knockback is determined on how far away they were from the TNT, if they were closer, they would be knocked further: Basically, all mobs would be knocked to approx. 5 blocks away, so that Bomb Blitz (which was the spell I imagined combo-ing the best with it) would be able to get more out of it without pierce.

    You misunderstood me, I meant make Tier 2 what it is for meteor now (Mesosphere fall: "Meteors fall 3x faster") And make Tier 3 what is the current Tier 2.

    As for your last point, I can accept that which is why I'm changing it to 2 seconds. (Might not seem like a big change, maybe it's not enough, I can't test it, but it is still 33% faster)

    you raise a fair point but adding a timer isn't a good resolution; higher pierce circumvents the issue without making the spell inherently worse.

    even if the distance matches, the problem is then that they could be knocked in any direction, which would result in enemies being spread across a large 5-block radius circumference. the greater the timer, the poorer your control over the spell, and the greater the potential spread.

    mb for the misunderstanding but the original t2 upgrade is the problem upgrade in the first place. i'm ok with the t3 remaining as is but i've already made a point that the original t2 is making the spell perform worse.

    So for the first spell you're suggesting +1 pierce then exploding on the next mob rather than exploding x secs after piercing. I can get behind that.

    As for the TNT, I don't see why they would be knocked in random locations? Surely they would all be knocked away from the epicentre? I don't see why it would knock them into random positions. The point of the spell is to combo with Bomb Blitz which fires in all directions. Also, I don't want just another random big damage spell like bomb arrow or meteor but more of a combo spell like uppercut was meant to be imo. That's why I gave it the circular kb.
