Better Version Of Realm Of Light

Lots of quests have been revamped in the past, such as Sister City (now replaced with Misadventure On The Sea), Tower of Amnesia (twice!), and more. Gavel is in dire need of revamps, because let's be real. Armor stand cinematics feel very outdated. One quest that REALLY needs a revamp is The Realm Of Light. I think it could be better than it currently is, and here's my rendition of a revamp (it also includes a new dungeon, Shimmering Seal. This is the unlock quest):

Beyond Comprehension (Level 74)

Talk to Aluxander in The Light Realm

Aluxander: Well, Tiek's finally gone and done it.
Aluxander: Welcome, human.
Aluxander: You may have expected a lush, vibrant wonderland beyond the gate, and that's what our realm USED to be...
Aluxander: But there is a war. A war between two great forces
Aluxander: We are the light. Our enemy is the dark.
Aluxander: If the dark wins the war, your realm is surely doomed.
Aluxander: Come, follow me. I'll explain as we go.
Aluxander: 3 seeds of darkness broke into our realm, and are now corrupting it.
Aluxander: The corruption in the middle of Wynn is caused by a clash between light and dark.
Aluxander: Corruption is formed when light and dark fuse. The Nether was created when the forces first met.
Aluxander: That was aeons ago, and the portal was buried as time went on. It was humans who dug it out.
Aluxander: Anyway, these seeds created horrible little mites that went everywhere and started corrupting these lands.
Aluxander: We don't know how they got into the realm, but it's spreading darkness across Gavel and if we don't act soon...
Aluxander: It may start looking like that land beyond Wynn.
Aluxander: ...
Aluxander: You don't know what I'm talking about? You'll find out soon, I'm sure...
Aluxander: The mites infected our leader, Orphion, a heliolux who appears as a dog.
Aluxander: Orphion is a hero.. He defeated the dark leader, but I suspect he has rose again.
Aluxander: Orphion turned on us and we had to seal him away after he killed one of his own.
Aluxander: Speaking of sealed, here's our destination.
Gaclux: Human, talk to me. we have a lot more to explain.

Talk to Gaclux

Gaclux: I'm sure Aluxander here has told you about the seeds, right?
Gaclux: They are more like eggs, and are about to hatch.
Gaclux: When they do hatch, the realm is doomed. They will free Orphion and help him destroy our sun. You have to stop them.
Gaclux: Find our town before it's too late, you're our only hope.

Head to Luster City and talk to Heliorion

Heliorion: Welcome to our city! We don't have much time. I have made paths to each seed.
Heliorion: Explore the city if you want, but be quick! We HAVE to act now.

Explore luster city to prepare, then head to the seeds

(the seed things are pretty much the same as they are in the current quest but slightly more modern)

Return to Gaclux and Aluxander with the news

Gaclux: You're back already? And you saved the realm in that time?!
Aluxander: Tiek seems to have good judgement. Alright. We think you're ready.
Gaclux: We need you to free Orphion from his curse. We can still save Gavel together.
Aluxander: You will need a lot of help saving Gavel and possibly your entire realm though. We have figured out what's happening...
Gaclux: The villagers have grown greedy. They will do anything for money.
Aluxander: If you wish to stop them, you will need to do a lot.
Gaclux: For now, we focus on Orphion.
Aluxander: To break his seal, you need some tomes.
Gaclux: One is in Luster City, one is in the old corrupted chapel, and one is in the Overworld.
Aluxander: I'll get the one in the chapel. Since [playername] has set it free, I'll be fine.
Gaclux: I need to stay here and guard the seal. It's risky to leave it unguarded.
Gaclux: That means that you will need to get the other two.
Gaclux: The one in the Overworld is found in a prison near Ternaves. We heliolux posess incredible magic, so I'll open a portal to it.
Gaclux: I'll teleport you back once you're done, and then you can get the one in Luster City.

Step into the portal and break into the prison

This place seems eerie... Maybe you should question some townsfolk about it?

(when questioned, the townsfolk pretty much tell you that it's haunted and that the only way in is to find a key. The key is kept locked away in the Detlas Barracks)

Head to the Detlas Barracks and get the key

Guard: Hey, what are you doing here?
Guard: Come to take the key, eh?
Guard: Here, take it. I really do not want this damned thing..
Guard: The other day I saw it floating.. It's gaining some kind of power that I do not want to mess with.
Well that was easy... Now you should head back to the prison.

Enter the prison

???: Hehehehehehehehehe...
???: Another mortal fool has entered my trap...
???: Prepare to die!

Gaclux: Now return to the realm!

Enter the portal

Gaclux: Great job! Now go to Luster City, it's in the Grand Library.

Head to Luster City Library

Librarian: Shhhhh... Be quiet. I know you're trying to save us all but the tome is in the secret library. Not even you are allowed to know where that is or how to enter...
Librarian: Although... I will tell you if you do some errands. I really can't be bothered to do them myself...
Librarian: I need you to organise some books for me. They are behind me, find their correct section and put them there.

Magical creatures of the Overworld (Non-fiction)
Anatomy of a Villager (Science)
Grookwarts adventures (Fantasy)
Light jokes (Comedy)
Lusterhound fun (Children's books))

Librarian: Alright, I'll tell you
Librarian: I'll just pull this lever here and...
Librarian: Alright! Now just jump on the floating books and you'll get there! Good luck human!

Enter the library

Here's the tome! Now I should get back to Orphion's Seal...

Gaclux: Wow, that was fast
Aluxander: I'm... Back.. Phew...
Gaclux: Alright, I shall now recite the ancient incantation
(he says ''To the lord Orphion, we send a human. He must be freed thanks to this Fruman'' in ancient wynnic. The door then breaks open in a cinematic cutscene)
Aluxander: Alright. To get in, you'll need to give Gaclux a key. I have one for you for now, but you'll have to hunt for more after that.
Aluxander: Good luck, hero. We're counting on you.

I agree with wanting to revamp the Light Realm, but man this just doesn't seem like a good quest. Good job for trying to make one though

 

It seems that a gavel revamp will happen this update in some capacity. I don't know enough to be 100% sure, but I'm fairly certain that many things will be changed. Hopefully this quest will be one of those things.

 

i'm assuming that gavel will be revamped part by part, and the problematic quests are sure to be revamped, namely every quest in gavel


i'd love to see a realm of light rework, but this doesn't feel like the way to do it. the problem with quests like this is that due to the high amount of active, action based parts, everything feels rushed and disjointed, and you can see it in the dialogue. also, random mechanics are random.
