/trapped

    Sometimes, I get myself into some weird places. Once I was teleporting my way across the country and i managed to get me self stuck underneath a slab used as a staircase. I had to /kill and lost 2 soul, as well as my progress traveling. Another time, a quest line failed to teleport me, leaving me trapped in a black box. I was already low on soul and lost my chestplate while /killing. /Trapped is a feature many SMP vanilla servers have to teleport you out of sticky situations. It could just teleport you 4 or 5 blocks away or something, freeing you from getting stuck.

    Teleport in what direction? In order to implement this, you would need to implement a system to make sure people couldn't spam this to teleport behind walls or out of the map, and there is really no good way of doing this that would been largely immune to map glitching. In addition, mage's teleport does not work as an instant blink to any location you can see for this reason, preventing mages from teleporting behind any sort of wall.

    /kill is your only option at the moment and I would recommend carrying a teleport scroll to a city (Ragni is cheapest at 8 emeralds) if you want to avoid this situation, and if you are on low soul points I would recommend waiting or playing a another character while you wait on your trapped person.

    It would be
    The devs could set a invisible "checkpoint" of sorts maybe every 50 blocks on land. If you do trapped, you would be tp'd to the nearest one. Still much better than having to start your trip over again

    Alright, if you die while fighting inside of a dungeon, like CUR or EO, then you can just do /trapped and immediately teleport back into the dungeon you just failed. Die again? do /trapped again

    So the in order for the system to work, there needs to be designated areas that must be manually assigned whether they can accept the teleport token or not.

    So what about things like people falling off of sky islands into the void? Allowable or no?

    If you have frequent problems with getting stuck, make sure you're playing on 1.12.2 as other issues tend to be buggier and may be the cause of at least some of the problems. You should not be getting stuck often enough for it to be a serious issue.

    We don't have the ability to teleport people, and even if we did then that would be a major waste of our time due to the complications of teleporting players and availability.

    This could be easily abusable and would likely be a pain to add the checkpoints. Yeah, /kill can make you lose items while on low soul points, which is why you should wait until you have enough soul points to not lose valuable items when using /kill. -1
