    Reason:
While playing Shaman, I noticed switching away from your weapon despawns your Totem. I then realized that e.g. as Mage your Heal stops, and Meteor despawns before hitting anything. I suppose this is to prevent players from constantly switching their weapon and in theory using six different weapons at once. E.g. on Shaman you could use a Weapon with cheap Totem costs, and then use another for the actual fight.

    Suggestion:

Stop stopping the effects, and solve the Problem in another way. Make players wield a weapon. This can either be done as a command (similiar to /itemlock) or by making a Hotbar slot the "Weapon Slot" (similiar to rings and bracelets), and stop the effects when the wielded weapon changes, (By changing the Item in the Slot or using the command).

    Convenient Side Effects:

    • The Character Information now shows your stats including the Effects added by your Weapon.
    • This system can be expanded to encourage Dualwielding, either e.g. as an Ability of a certain class (e.g. Assassin) or as an (Major-) Identification.
    • Max Health doesn't constantly change when using a Weapon, that effects it.
    Problems:
    • When using the weaponslot, players might be used to using a different Slot for their Weapon. This could be fixed by adding a command to change the weaponslot.
    • Assassin can't cancel vanish by switching away from his Weapon. Could be fixed by making recasting Vanish cancel it, maybe someone has a better Idea

Seems unnecessary. Some people also like having their weapons in different slots, I also don't see how this would "encourage" dual wielding. This just """"FIXES"""" a problem that is not even a problem

The different Slot Problem is addressed under Problems (With a Solution). This Suggestion does not encourage Dualwielding in itself, but can be expanded to actual Dualwielding (As in the Game calls it Dualwielding and gives Advantages/Disadvantages to the player for doing so), that is not just using two different Weapons in different Situations. And I'd say it is a Problem (altough obviously minor), if Shaman can't use any Potion without giving up his Totem. One can say, Shaman is simply not supposed to use Potions midfight and it is a planned disadvantage given to him, but I don't see the Reason for that.

An actual Problem with this, is Asassin not being able to cancel his vanish. But maybe this can be solved another way (E.g. Recasting Vanish cancels it)

That's kind of an intentional compromise with shaman I believe; using a potion means doing no damage, like with all other classes. This suggestion would be horribly inconvenient for those of us who use multiple weapons, as being able to swap weapons on the fly is incredibly useful to that.

also consider multiwielding with 3+ weapons, as well as -hpr and other factors
