Website & Forums Make The Questions Section Easier To Find. [100% Of 37] [added]

The main Wynncraft section gets has quite a lot of threads with simple questions on them, most (if not all) of which should be posted in the Questions section. Now, of course, those threads tend to be posted by very new players, often their first thread even, and they really can't be expected to know where their threads should go.

I'm not saying I have the solution, but I believe a big part in that would be that the Questions section is oddly hard to find. Looking at how new players would view the forums after first joining (in this case, to get a question answered). After hopefully checking out the rules, this is what they see:

While the more observant new forumgoers would spot out the tiny 'Questions', it's honestly quite hard to see- which barely improves even after clicking on the main Wynncraft section. Another way the current setup of the Questions channel is pretty poor, is on mobile- just look at this.



Not even hard to spot Questions, it just isn't there at all.
Of course, once they click on the Wynncraft section, it shows a Questions subsection, but the "Post a new thread" button is right below them aaaaand they've already made a thread asking how to best make money at level 14.

Again, a making Questions its own proper section won't stop all those posts from appearing in the main Wynncraft section- but I think it'll at least help. Besides, if ??? Hunt can still appear on the forums home page, anything can.

 

And move ??? hunt into planning parlour

100% agreed. The questions section has more activity than almost every other section on the forums, I don't see why it shouldn't get its own section on the forums since it already has one on discord.

 

Yes please, this is exactly what we need. But I think there's another reason why so many questions and even things like build requests or freakin' ban appeals are posted in the wrong place: There isn't really a good description what actually belongs into the Wynncraft section. When you hover over it it says "Anything about Wynncraft goes here", and there are a lot of things that are about Wynncraft yet they don't belong into the Wynncraft section.

 

If it's worth anything, I did make a thread about what kind of content you're supposed to put where (and I guess I could bump that again, but this is definitely something that could and should happen.

Also, while I'm commenting on this, aside from just this specific glaring issue there are a lot of small problems with the whole forums layout, like

- ??? Hunt still existing despite being irrelevant for over 3 and a half years (a guide to doing it could be pinned in Questions, and the entire thing deleted at this point to be honest.)
- Minecraft News, also dead since 2016, and a subsection I doubt most people even know exist (it's fine to stay existing I guess, but keep in mind this is put at roughly the same importance as Questions and Class Builds are).
- Feedback should become a bit more prominent, although I don't think it's a big issue it is very often overlooked, and General Suggestions or Wynncraft occasionally just has feedback, despite technically belonging in here.
- The order of the right side bar (user info -> selected videos -> search -> staff -> members -> posts -> profile posts -> forum stats isn't exactly the most obvious order, user info -> search -> staff -> selected videos -> posts -> profile posts -> members -> forum stats for example seems a lot better to me).
- shoubtox an actual way to see new threads being posted (which is often much more useful than seeing new posts) is missing.

And that still leaves some things on Discord like #spoiler_chat (originally made for Avengers Endgame, I believe) still exists despite not a single person having used it properly in months and months, and guilds being ignored on Discord (although that might just be for the better).

But Questions is probably the most problematic of them all, so let's focus on that for now.

 

Currently, there are 6 questions threads on the front page. If that isn't proof enough, I don't know what is.
