As of writing this, I have a bank page and a half full of 96-100 unidentified legendary loot, from all my loot-runs in the Silent Expanse. I won't ID them since it costs more then to sell them for the blacksmith. This is just outrageous, I mean LEGENDARY loot not begin worth it. I get why uniqes/rares usually don't profit but legendaries?! c'mon!

Now you might be thinking, why not just sell them on the market place? Well, it is suuuuuper slow to sell them there, a couple of days minimum, and I can only auction 5 at a time!

So how do we fix this? Simple, just make the blacksmith give more emeralds for ID-d legendaries! It should be a profit of minimum an emerald block so that it is worth picking up in loot runs instead of emeralds, and a maximum of around 10-15 blocks.

It bothers me that I have to leave legendaries behind, so I think this will solve it

I actually agree with this, most legendaries don't sell and aren't worth it. I think that if you identify it for 500 or whatever it should sell for 600-800 at least, it is silly I agree. Whenever I pick up a legendary it's not "YES!" it's "christ, I hope it's something the community would like."

This is one of the logical ideas that seems obvious but never gets spoken about. Its not something that is overly game-breaking and is more of a quality of life thing. Whats the point in ID'ing things if you're just going to lose emeralds in the process, especially when selling un-ID'd items gives you around 10 emeralds, very underwhelming.

More so, the random aspect of how many emeralds you receive upon selling to a blacksmith. I don't know if its for excitement factor, or just content filling. Either way, +1 to this idea.

I would argue that this could cause a lot of inflation, but as it is, identifying items that you won't use or that aren't worth a lot on the player market is frequently a waste of money.

Don't quote me on this, but I believe this was actually done on purpose - before the existence of the in-game trade market, this would incentivice players to sell their items on the forums/interact with the community, instead of selling them to the item buyer.

Regardless, most Legendaries don't sell for much now because there's such an oversupply of them. I suggest learning what Uniques sell well (e.g. Aquamarine, Vacuum, Medeis, etc.) and taking some of those with you on your lootruns instead. If they have good IDs you can sell them on the market, otherwise you can make on average a - small - profit selling these to the blacksmith (assuming a uniform distribution):

For example, identifying lv. 96-100 Unique leggings costs 54 emeralds, and they sell for 56.5 emeralds to the item buyer (on average). It's definitely not much, but in any case better than the loss you make on average with Legendaries.

Regarding the suggestion itself - I think this would add too many emeralds to the economy. However, I do agree that it's not a nice feeling having to leave behind Legendaries/Fableds as they are often not profitable.

You can identify a unique and then SCRAP IT and sell the scrap for a profit.

He's talking about just legendaries why I would argue need to be addressed

Legendaries used to be able to be ided and sold to blacksmith for a profit, but when market came out iirc, they changed it so you have a much lower chance of making a profit.

This was probably done to lessen the inflation that lootrunning gave, as mythics at that time were way harder to get compared to now. Nowadays legendaries in lootrunning, or in general are worth less and less, and they aren't valuable at all. I think this change reflected the late economy later on, with mythics being more prevalent, and then raw le becoming the most valuable.

History aside, I do believe this change could be applicable now, as selling legendaries to the blacksmith would indeed stimulate the economy with more raw le. Especially now with loot quality making mythics more and more in supply.
