Is Anything Happening With The Lost Colossus

I'm just wondering, cause we're told that "it's actually a living being", and someone in kandon-beda says that "perhaps some day the entrance will open, and we will see what's inside", yet, disappointingly, the lost colossus isn't actually anything interesting. I'm thinking that maybe it can be a fast travel between kandon-beda and the canyon of the lost (by rebuilding that bridge), or there could be a quest around it, maybe even a dungeon? I'm just kinda disappointed that there's literally no content around an area with a decent amount of potential that gets forgotten about 5 seconds after its discovery (I literally had to create a new tag for it in the forums, showing it's probably never been discussed).

 

Trust me its been discussed, this is one of the many many scrapped Gavel dungeons (most likely, we haven’t gotten 100% confirmation on this) and yes, it is very sad to see all of these places without content. Everyones first thought when seeing the colossus was probably “Hey look, i can get back to Kandon Beda by going in there” only to be met with the harsh reality that way too much Gavel stuff was scrapped.

 

The light realm dungeon was also never added :/

 

And the Dullahan Manor
And the Mortal Mountain

I really wish they made the door under the colossus lead into Kandon-Beda

 

And Grootslang

 

and elemental mini-dungeons

And wynn stuff:
crypt of 1000 years

 

So, does anyone know if the dev team is going to rework Gavel to give those kinds of areas a use? I mean, we don't have any 1.20 teasers yet…

 

This place had so much potential. Seriously, i'm just imagining the bossfight against the colossus...

Please make 1.20 so that all the scrapped Gavel stuff is actually made

 

It seems more likely that it’s gonna be a revamp of the early game

 

That would be fine too.

But someone said that LI is getting a revamp, so they are probably are also finishing the Mixed Feelings storyline

 

I think I remember hearing in a stream where Salted and other content teams were talking saying that Gavel won't have an update focusing on it, everything will gradually be added/revamped from update to update. So every update they will add/revamp a few parts of Gavel.

I think we got the first major news of RTD in August so you may need to wait for that

 

The updates used to come out roughly every 8 months, but the past 2 have taken a bit longer.
1.18 took longer because it was originally RTD, but then got changed mid-way through and the focus changed entirely to the Economy Update.
In 1.19, apparently the Shaman class was a big factor in why it took so long.
I expect we'll get a screenshot or cryptic teaser of 1.20 in June/July (As it'll be over 6 months since 1.19 on June 8th) , so hopefully it won't be too much longer :)

 

What are you guys talking about? Lost Colossus is a entrance to Kandon Beta. It’s a fast travel that costs 2 ap. Once you get to the far side of Colossus (the side closest by Kandon Beta), you need to execute a powerful fast travel command... /kill
