I was trying to grind at a place in the canyon of the lost, but all the camping spots have been taken up by barrier blocks. Because of this, every time I try to grind there I get instantly killed. I get that you need barrier blocks to prevent people from camping important bosses or walking outside of the map, but why do you have to put barrier blocks on a small spire? As an archer, camping spots are quite important to me. Surely the entire point of a ranged class is to attack at range? If you do not provide places where I can attack enemies at range, then the whole point of a ranged class is pointless. So I'm asking, can you please remove some of the barrier blocks? Not all of them, I understand that you have your reasons, but can you remove the barrier blocks that block up places that should not be blocked like camping spots for grinding or little ledges where you can quickly escape or heal.

Just use your speed boost to run away and use potions to heal.

As an archer you still have escape/arrow shield no? Unless you made a build that was super glassy to exploit the fact you could camp somewhere and take no damage you should be able to manage just fine.

For archers I found that you really have to take advantage of the speed boost - like sprint to the other side of the grinding spot a lot (and for ranged mobs, strafe in one direction only). Also, for me some grinding spots just work better than others so just try different ones out until you find one that's the right difficulty.

This is the exact reason why there are barriers in the first place.

The CT doesn't want grinding to just be mindlessly spamming spells in a safe spot, they want it to be a risky task for a larger xp reward. Removing camping spots and little ledges would be extremely abusable. For example, for the veterans out there, pre-revamp herb cave. There was this one place where you could stand and no mob could get to you, and that was abused to hell.

So I see what you're saying, barriers are annoying sometimes, but removing them would cause more harm than good. Grind spots aren't just clicking simulators, you have to think fast and stay alive.

It isn't really. Comparing archer to some class like say, warrior, range is definitely a great thing to have. Sure, while grinding spots might not give you too much space, but it allows you to keep the mobs further away from you. And this is just for grind spots. For bosses, range is sometimes even more important, to evade spells like multihit or explosion. It's also really helpful against other ranged mobs. Besides, removing barriers for the sake of archer would be extremely unbalanced. Sure, an archer may be able to fire at range, immune from mob attacks, but can warrior? Warrior still has to brave the mobs close-up.

Anyways, sorry for double-post, just wanted to share my opinions.
