When I was doing the Ice barrows quest, I was quite confused at the fact that theorick was so powerful, and yet he was only lvl 40. He was able to freeze enemies easily and keep nessak protected from the corruption, and yet I could beat him at lvl 40. The more I thought about it, the more it seemed to bug me. In the quest that opens the lost sanctuary dungeon, you encounter an adventuring mage that opens the way for you with an ice snake. I loved that, but it also makes me feel like the player doesn't really get stronger as they level up because no matter how strong you get, you will never open that passageway with an ice snake. The only difference between a lvl 1 and a lvl 105 is the equipment they're wearing. (and like 500 health)

This is why I propose a new idea: stat boosts. whenever you level up, instead of getting just +5hp, you will also gain a small buff. For example. every level will give you + 5 main attack neutral damage and +5 main attack spell damage (Maybe too op for low level so like +1, +1, +1, +2, +2, +2, +3, +3 +3... and so on) and every 10 levels you could gain +1 to all skills, and every 20 levels +1/4 mana regen. This change would make the player feel like they improve themselves as they level up, not just their gear.

when you level up you also get 2 skill points that can increase your attack damage etc. there's no need for those stat boosts

lv. 40: 1k-3k Hp, about 500-1000 dps max?
    lv. 105: 8k-20k Hp, about 8k-13k dps
    Also spell upgrades exist.

While looking at your stats I would think that you would know it.

    Skill points exist

That would probably get pretty overpowered pretty quickly depending on how it's calculated. It would also be hard to make it fit all builds in a way that benefits them and is still balanced. For instance, benefits that affect skill points buff rainbow builds significantly, but single element or dual element builds probably won't gain a lot from them. Adding damage also is an issue, a raw heavy melee build wouldn't care about an extra 500 melee damage, but a super fast attack speed weapon would gain a ton of dps. Spell damage is similar, depending on how it is added (if it is added before the multiplier, it benefits mage more than, say, assassin, and if it is added as raw after the multiplier, the opposite is true).

That being said, I'd love to see ways we get stronger as time goes by, not just in terms of combat ability, but story wise. I'd like to be able to open that passage with a maximum upgrade ice snake for instance, or enable certain things to not require an NPC if you fit a certain requirement (I don't know if they could based on actions on another class, but that'd open up some neat possibilities).

Well thats the problem with skill points. I could be a lvl 105 with full diamond and max defence and still get knocked out in one hit by honip in misadventure on the sea.
They make your character more powerful, sure. But they dont make you FEEL more powerful.
I guess stat boosts would be too op tho.

I understand you, but there is
    a) difference between me doing Misadventure on the Sea on level and me doing the quest on lv. 100
    b) If you dont not feel powerful with that gear, solo EO without arnor

ok but what's bad about the fact thwt armour makes you powerful?
and the thing is that by giving you skill points and different types of armour and weapons wynncraft givea you an opportunity to customize your character however you want and stat boosts don't give you this opportunity, also by making those stat boosts player will be too OP and to make everything balanced, most of the items and mobs would have to be nerfed which would be a huge problem

    so here's a little summary:
    1.Too OP
2.No flexibility in customizing your character
3.Too much work for CT with nerfing items and mobs

and one last thing, not armour makes players powerful, but also their skills in playing if you think that without armour even on level 106 you can't do anything watch this video
