Yes, I am aware that this suggestion is probably a bad one and that Wynncraft will probably not have a new class for a long time.

And yes, I'm suggesting it anyway.

I remember seeing somebody mention on a class thread that we don't need another ranged class because the ratio of ranged:melee since 1.19 is 3:2 instead of 1:1, so the bard is going to be a melee class. I tried to do my homework and have the damages and mana costs make sense, but I may change them if they're too underpowered or overpowered. Anyway, here we go:

    Bard/Performer: Melee class

Bards use their instruments and voices to inspire other soldiers and taunt their enemies. As well as being musically gifted, bards can pack a heavy punch with their guitars.

Bards exist in the army because while they are gifted in music and could have made a living in Fruma, they want to help fend off against the corruption with their magic.

The reason Bob wasn't a bard is that when he was alive, bards weren't viewed as soldiers and there were none in the army. When Fruman bards began hearing about the heroic tales from Wynn and Gavel, they decided to go fight against the corruption alongside Wynn soldiers.
    Weapon: Lute
-Normal weapons can be titled things like "Iron-Clad Lute" or "Flawless Birch Lute"
-Faster weapons could lean more towards violins and smaller guitar-like instruments, and slower weapons would lean more toward cellos and bigger guitar-like instruments
-I'm not sure how it would be crafted because it would be weird to have four weapons in Woodworking and only two in Weaponsmithing.
    Stats:
    Damage- 4
    Defence- 3
    Range- 2
    Spells- 4

    Difficulty- 1

    Main Attack: L
    Spells:
    R-L-R: Harmony (5 base mana)
This is a spell that buffs the user and their party members. It gifts +20% main attack power to the user for 10 seconds and +15% main attack power to nearby party members for 10 seconds.
    Upgrades:
-Endurant Scream (5): lasts for 15 seconds instead of 10
-Soothing Melody (4): heals 10% base health when the spell is cast, also applies to party members

R-R-R: Smash Hit (3 base mana) (will probably be changed eventually)
This is the Bard's movement spell, where the user smashes their lute into the ground, launching them backwards into the air quickly. The user will be launched backwards at a different angle depending on where they look (for example, looking straight down will launch you nearly vertical and looking forward will launch you straight backwards).
    Elemental Damage: Earth- 2: 25%, 3: 35%
    Upgrades:
-Target Audience (4): If there's a mob in front of the Bard when they cast Smash Hit, the mob will take 110% main attack damage.
-Stunning Show (5): Up to three mobs can now be hit when the Bard casts the spell, and they're stunned for 1 second.

R-L-L: Highest Note (8 base mana)
When Highest Note is cast, the user lets out an ear-piercing note that deals damage in a 15-block radius, with damage dealing 400% damage and gradually fading out to 150% damage at the edge of the radius.
    Elemental Damage: Air- 1: 15%, 2 + 3: 20%, Fire- 1, 2, + 3: 15%
    Upgrades:
-Proficiency (8): As the user gets better at casting the note, the damage increases to 200% at the edge of the radius.
-Vocal Range (8): As the user's vocal range increases, so does the damage at the center of the radius (450% damage).

R-R-L: Musical Staff (6 base mana)
This spell, when cast, shoots 3 beams of music notes in front of them, through mobs, and it lasts 2 seconds. Each mob that the staffs hit takes 150% damage.
    Elemental Damage: Thunder- 1, 2 + 3: 15%, Water- 1, 2, + 3: 15%
    Upgrades:
-Knockback (7): Mobs hit by the staffs take 2 blocks knockback.
-Focus (7): The center staff does 200% damage, while the staffs on the sides keep their 150% damage.

I'm also attaching some art I drew for the bard earlier (I know it's bad)

I was probably the one who said the thing about the "1:1 melee-ranged ratio" comment, but who knows someone else might've said it.

This class suggestion is definitely one of the more better ones recently. Quite a bit of detail and I can understand how the abilities will play out. The upgrades personally feel a little downplayed, but that's just me.
You mention this being a "melee class" but personally I don't feel like this one is melee-oriented. I feel like I could rename the class to "Priest/Cleric" and give the spells a name redo, and it would turn out to be a caster class. There aren't a lot of melee abilities in here, and it's more support. If your idea was to go for a Paladin class, then I can see this in a better perspective. It would still lack that melee aspect though.

I do feel like "Highest Note" is a bit overpowered due to how much range it has. In fact, I believe that's the highest AoE range out of all of the classes in the game. But depending on how fast it expands, it could be balanced. But if it's a fast moving circle like Shaman's Aura, then I think nerfing the damage or radius would be in order for that to work.
I'll also point out that "Musical Staff's" final upgrade seems more like a downgrade. Since the two outer staffs get their damage reduced, it doesn't feel right exactly. Perhaps if you made only the Center beam deal 200% damage and left the other two at 150%, then I think it'd feel good. Also, I feel like it's a castable Shaman auto attack, which is fine. Just feels weird.

Overall, the idea sounds decent, certainly better than most recently. I don't know how this would play and I can't really imagine a setting where I would right now, but I think it could have potential as a Support. Perhaps if you find a way to make the spells combo-able and have decent synergy, it could work out really nice! :)

I still don't know why there has been a surge in class suggestions and if this train keeps rolling I might make one myself.

It may have turned out not really a melee class because I prefer playing ranged classes in general. I guess I thought "smack people with guitar" was good for the melee part and just didn't keep that in mind when creating the spells.

With Hightest Note, should I decrease the AoE to 15 or 10 blocks instead of 20?

About Musical Staff: I like the idea of leaving the two outer staffs at 150% and upgrading the middle one, and I'll change that shortly after this reply. I was thinking about it sort of like a Shaman attack, but it stays in the air for two seconds (only damages mobs once, but mobs that walk into a staff after it's cast take damage)

I'll think about making the spells more compatible together and more melee-oriented.

    Thank you for the suggestions!

I'd also like it every time I cast a spell a badass guitar rift rocks my fucking world. I really do enjoy the idea and thought of this class. More classes sound pretty fun ngl

I've seen a bard suggestion before and it's a cool idea. I especially like how you made class art for it. I was going to do that for my new class concept but i'm too lazy. Also I am an awful artist so it would end up looking bad anyway.
Maybe one of the spells could be it whips out an ocarina and reverses time in the near 20 blocks after playing the song of time

What damages would be reasonable in the spells? I wanted to make a class that wouldn't be completely support so that people with no friends could use it, but maybe I went a bit overboard.

The damages are fine and I like this suggestion a lot I was just expecting mainly Buff/Debuff spells like d&d bards. the numbers seem pretty balanced. though that being said I feel like harmony could be a bit more powerful but I can't think of a creative way to do that. I did vote definitely on your poll.

Originally, Harmony had +1 tier attack speed, but that was too OP. To make up for it, I can change the attack damage buff to be a bit better, maybe like 5% more.

You Sir, have never played 5th edition then. Bards can be ANYTHING YOU WANT THEM TO BE!

Question is it pure Melee or will it have a slight range (like playing notes or 100% just bashing them in the head (I'm sorry if you answered this, I'm literally running off two brain cells)

It's not like Assassin, where it has basically no range, but the weapon is melee-based and I accidentally made the spells more ranged-focused. I'd like to keep some of the ranged qualities, but I want to make the spells more melee-oriented.

I honestly believe range spells and melee based "Auto attacks" to use League of Legends terms would make the most sense. The bard would want to be playing their lute, guitar or whatever but when those little hobgoblins get close, beat them with it. This is pure elvish wood, it'll be fine.

could you please explain the "auto attack" thing? (also, the guitar can have metal plating on the side for more damage)

Auto attacks = Left click/Right click. Not spell attacks. Oh nice idea of the metal. "Auto Attack" is a term in MOBAs for right clicking people

Well, the thing is, I see Wynncraft as a server where you're supposed to be able to solo all the classes, but you can form a party and play the support role if you want to. It's different from D&D in the fact that you can play solo. If the Bard was only a support class, it would be useless to people who prefer to play by themselves (like me).
