I had a few thoughts regarding the website and the map. Let me start first with the map and then the website.
The map seems a little old but has the ability to be changed into something better. I've noticed many devs switching over to ReactJS for development and with that using new components from Mapbox.

For the map I believe it would be beneficial to switch to mapbox or use threejs along with react as your base to create a new faster map with the following feature recomendations:
    • Rotatable map
    • Highlight routes
    • Territories can be hovered over to display guild info and a flag using api.
    • Search tool to focus in on towns or specific locations that are hard to see.
    • Guild search tool. Filter by player, rank, etc (As a side note, Elasticsearch would be great for this to find specific guild information.)
    • Map discovery. For players who don't want to see the whole map, I suggest underneath the existing region discovery, there be another system that updates a property of the players data that in turn updates the map. The map would be similar to say Skyrim. Undiscovered areas are fog and once you make it you can see what is around. This feature could be toggled on or off.
    • Active quest tracker to show the player where an NPC is.
    • Allow the use to input custom pins with text boxes when you hover to write notes on such as "this is a grind spot" or "go here for later quest/ to finish quest".
As for the website design, I like it how it is, but there could be a few changes:
    • Mobile navigation could be improved and less of a hassle to click. Ideally a bottom fixed nav with icons and small text underneath them so you don't need a side menu.
    • The home banner could instead be a video or static image.
    • Users could be prompted to allow notifications to update them if an event or something is happening.
    • Looking at the game, and some mods like the Wynntils mod, I noticed there are some clever UI choices such as the playerinfo tab is a a scroll that opens, things like this to make the experience more immersive would be cool, the site is a big part of the gameplay so tying it in and making everything seamless would be cool!
    • Switching the site to React would speed up a few things and allow for lazy loading of images, making reusable components and if you use bootstrap making Desktop, Tablet and Mobile easier to access because the grid system in bootstrap is great for collapsing views as you scale down.
*edit* I'm sorry if some parts don't make sense

*update* I'm going to make a unity demo of the map idea just to mess around and see how well it could run.
