World Breaking Chests And Spilling Items

    This is my first time posting, so please forgive me if this has been posted before, I used the search bar and tried to find similar posts but didn't find anything so I'm hoping that this isn't an unoriginal idea.

    Opening a chest protects you from being attacked by mobs for the duration of having it open, but it won't protect you from mob spells. Some mob spells can pull you toward them instantly, and make you lose your loot in the chest you opened, since being dragged a certain distance away from the chest makes it automatically close.

    It would be useful if there was a way to collect all loot in a chest instantly so that doesn't happen, but actually, what would more interesting if you could break the chest, and have its loot spill out everywhere. This solves the problem of losing the chest items into the void if you open a chest and get pulled away by a mob spell because you didn't bother to kill the mob before, or if it respawned.

    Having the option to break a chest and have its items drop would be sweet on a loot run with your buddy where you guys want randomized shared loot from each chest instead of just taking turns on looting them. It would be more exciting and more of a gamble if you are with a party of players who rush in on the sudden spill of items. (Or pitiful if there are only a couple items). Comparing what everyone got would be fun too.

    1) who lootruns with someone else E
    2) the only spell that i'm aware of that is able to hit you while in a chest is pull, because it is a delayed spell- they begin to cast, and then a delay, and then it activates

    honestly just kill mobs with pull before looting

    this would be very helpful for specific kinds of looting, but it kind of ruins the whole idea of mobs guarding the chest in general. high tier chests are usually placed in some kind of challenge area, whether it be a cave, a bandit camp, a harpy nest, etc. if you were able to just run past everything, break the chest and loot everything, and have no worry about any risks then these challenge areas could become useless without having basically locked doors on each one. as wynnic e said, just kill the mobs before looting.

    this would also have a very niche use case, in late game lootruns players tend to have loads of loot bonus and only take good items. breaking the chest would just give them everything in there, cluttering their inventory and making the entire thing take longer. many players also don't lootrun with friends, and this wouldn't have much use on tier 1/2 chests either. I could see this being used earlier on during just casual exploration, but as I said it would ruin the point of enemies in many of the caves, which are most effective at doing their job in a casual situation.

    overall the idea is nice and I agree it would be useful, but I feel it would essentially break the purpose of loot guarding mobs too much and not have many super useful uses outside of that. also I'm not sure how to add a poll but you could probably figure it out by fidgeting with the edit button a bit, but I also don't know how useful a poll would be to getting the suggestion in for more game design related ideas.
