    Hello!
Recently I've wanted to make a feedback post about challenge modes, or more specifically Ironman. It's the game mode with the most potential in my opinion (Hardcore is what it is, no real way to improve Craftsman without improving professions, and no way to change Hunted without changing PvP).

As Salted has described in his first post detailing challenge modes, anybody who enables Ironman is on their own, and this challenge will "test someone's knowledge of the game and require long term planning".

Originally, Ironman was amazing. Playing it with Craftsman enabled made resource and inventory management extremely challenging and beating certain bosses was a meticulously planned task beforehand to get all the materials and beat the boss while still having enough potions, LI especially. Keeping an ingredient for 20 levels to use in an item was an extremely fun thing to do, at least for me.

However, as of the Ingredient Pouch being added, Ironman has 56 inventory spaces. Assuming that you only use the Ironman game mode, there is literally no way you will run out of inventory space. Hell, on my HIC I've got at least eight or ten items that I really have no purpose keeping, and I still haven't really ever run out of space in roughly 200 hours of gameplay or even had to make tough choices in which items to keep that I may use later.

I feel like there's a couple directions this could go in, and I have a few ideas to make Ironman more challenging and enjoyable.

One of them is to change the Ingredient Pouch on Ironman to hold 27 *types* of ingredients, up to a potentially infinite amount (or just something really large). The interface for this should be possible to make.

The other one is to make the Ingredient Pouch the same as any other character, HOWEVER Ironman characters would have one or two bank pages to store anything in. This would eliminate the cramped inventory that originally was what Ironman revolved around, bust still require somewhat good organization.
Of course, this would make Ironman into an entirely different challenge.

A few more things could be added to the mode (Resetting SP takes away two levels, not two soul points, etc. etc) to require "long term planning", but I'm not really sure that the second idea is too great anyways.

Another thing that would be nice to add is one "bank slot" that only Mythic items could go into. Personally, I don't really care about this. Salted's vision of Ironman (or whoever made it) was clearly that you aren't able to take any items off of an Ironman character, but really, why would it matter? If you want to transfer an item off of your Ironman and to a character with no challenge modes enabled, why is that a big deal? In my opinion, getting that item on your Ironman is a much bigger achievement.

This is actively discouraging people from playing Ironman because "what if I find a mythic I can't use?"
Even if maybe it isn't the original vision of whoever made the gamemode, almost every single person I've talked to about Ironman cited finding a useless mythic as the only reason why they wouldn't try it out. (Other than just no interest.)

Anyways, I'd like to hear some feedback or other opinions. That's about all I had on my mind. Thanks!

    Linny hic master when...

I still haven't completed hic tf is wrong with me help

Sory linny, gonna have to disagree with you lol. Alright I know I haven't found a mythic on any ironman class (yet?) But if I were to, I wouldn't change my argument...unless I get a 100% strati or some shit oh gawd

... I wouldn't change my argument, yes definitely not. hA I SAY ILL PLAY HIC AGAIN AND QUIT A WEEK LATER IM NEVER GOING TO GET A MYTHIC ANYWAYS HMMM

Okay so since I'm already too lazy to play hic, you shouldn't expect me to write a whole new argument for this topic, I just made a comment on some other guys suggestion at 2am last night, so ima just copy paste it here and be like n o

Also ik in your post you said you don't really care about this, but ima just leave this here for other people to see again

I don't see how it's reasonable to defeat the purpose of the ironman challenge, just because of a very "unlucky lucky" mythic find... By choosing to play ironman, you should go into it knowing full well that you are losing a class's worth of le and items, for instead a unique challenge. For anyone who doesn't play ironman because you're worried you'll find a useless mythic on it, all I can say is that that doesn't make any sense at all. Finding a useless mythic is no different than not finding any mythic at all, and if you happen to get one, you can either keep it as a small token for fun, or record a video of you selling a mythic to a blacksmith. I can understand that if you got it as your first mythic, it could be very disappointing, but having found a mythic on ironman doesn't change any chances at all for finding another on a different class.

IF a "deposit" system were to be implemented, my suggestion would be that if you decided to deposit an item, you are also quitting the challenge. And as a result, your ironman chat icon should be grayed out (like the gray hardcore icon).

And as a side note, I have played ironman on my hic class (which is level 90), and even though I don't have a mythic on it, I've had my fair share of items which would be great to transfer over, but knowing I can't is perfectly fair and it's part of the challenge I wanted to try.

Like I said on the other thread, it sounds more aggressive than I intended but opinion onion opinion it is an opinion

I'm up for debating lmao sorry this post is unnecessary

    1) add a poll
    2) are we talking about depositing mythics or any item?
