World Dying Plot Hole

In beyond the grave, we learn that when you die, you are revived by your spirit killing what killed you. But if that's the case, why were people like Bob unable to revive? Is it that their spirit was never able to kill their killer? This doesn't make much sense to me.

 

Nothing does; the whole quest was a meta joke so you can consider it non canon if you want.

But then how is he in heaven then?

 

If thats heaven how did we get there though?

 

Idk either... There wasn’t a portal, just a dark hallway. Maybe it was just in our heads like in Memory Paranoia?

That still doesn’t answer though if that’s heaven or what else it could be... And wait, that doesn’t explain how we get his seal of approval either...

 

Even assuming Bob is dead, there are a few possible explanations for why bob doesn't come back from the grave. While it's never explicitly stated in the conversation with Death, the phrase "If you wish to return..." implies that souls have the option of remaining in the afterlife. Another possibility is that because Bob had to seal the beast away with his own life force (as he says in Nilrem's letter), he may not have been able to return from the grave without reversing his sacrifice.

 

Bob died because he probably went to SE/Dern to “seal a best”, we assume this is The Eye, since he used his soul to seal the eye, he couldn’t respawn

 

^ the eye is ontop of the tower because it was put there and not because it was sealed or something

 

I ngl think that Dr. Legendary is the reason for the "Reincarnation" of Bob that we fight, it's been pointed out that Bob has the ability to spread his power into multiple things/beings, so what would stop him from putting some of his power into a robot? Possibly one created by Dr. Legendary. To find a warrior that can possibly help Bob in his journey to kill the "final boss" which is that creature we saw.

I really hope that THAT Bob wasn't the real one, if it was that fight was seriously underwhelming and I seriously want them to implement more Bob related quests, if we ever get Dern that is.

Another possibility I've been toying around with, is that the reincarnation of Bob that we see is actually Bob, but only in his spirit form, as his main body was taken by the beast we see in the SE ultimate discovery and we must eventually kill Bob's actual body to put him to rest.

 

I mean

Dude was alive for 146 years

And spent most of those years fighting

I think he just got tired and chose not to revive

 

I think there’s just something special about the player that death allows them to come back
