Buffing Health Regen Tickrate

Increase Health Regen Tick Speed to 3-5 seconds rather than 10?

    Health Regen is a weird stat to me. I think itemizing for it most definitely works, as proven by some player's crazy health regen builds.

    However, I feel like its clunky, and feels absolutely useless when added to a build in small amounts. I believe right now Health Regen ticks for full value every 10 seconds. I hope Health Regen can tick for half or a third of the amount every 3-5 seconds.

    I do have a few question for server performance issues on this though. Would increasing tick time cause more lag? Would over all health regen need to be reduced if the tick comes in every 3 or 5 seconds?

    Server performance shouldn't be impacted. I've been advocating for /4s hpr for a while, definite agree.

    If you change to every five seconds you would have to do alot of tweeking to hpr items to make it balanced. 8 seconds could be reasonable because hpr currently has this exponential curve of return (a little hpr is useless, A moderate amount is somewhat useful, alot makes you an unkillable god) but I can understand that balancing this would be somewhat difficult.

    Very little balancing is necessary imo even if it was changed to /4s. People aren't up in arms about 1500 lifesteal even though getting that is quite a bit easier than 1500 hpr, and generally stronger even if hpr was /4s too, since lifesteal can act on multiple mobs!

    sanos care/hetusol/edin blessed/semph is around 4k hpr with the new buffed to semph. every 10 seconds that is a little weak in my opinion however ever 4 seconds that would be really powerful, even with the amount of damage you trade for it. Not to mention boreal...which almost doubles that...

    Congrats, 4k hpr but you can't do damage. Here's an existing build https://wynndata.tk/s/zj8a4y that gets upwards of 2k lifesteal, plus mana steal, plus a +1 tier. And yet, few people will use such high-tank builds.

    I do think Hetusol and maybe to a lesser extent Sano's Care have too much percent hpr though. Hetusol in particular is a ridiculous amount for an item that's not super tank-oriented.

    The 4k hpr is a tradeoff...there are ways to have godly tank builds that aren't "optimal" or whatever with godly damage. In my experiance I find boreal hpr to be far more powerful than high ls and semph hpr to be a fair bit weaker but not bad by any means. I do think that the weapon also matters alot as many weapons include ls/hpr in them to also amplify the builds. But in practice dealing 9.5k uppers with 4k hpr is not bad at all for a tradeoff. However I will say that on non warrior classes the tradeoff isn't as great.
    Hetusol imo is the only hpr item that might be a little to strong in hpr but all the -defenses make the item fine. and sano has 0hp so personally im fine with it...I use phoenix prince's crown anyways.

    Only 4k? The only niche HPR has right now is stacking to like 15k+ and being all but unkillable :/

    yeah that's the annoying part of it. Warrior with 4k hpr when stacking defense and agility is really quite good. Boreal hpr or 6.5-7k is insanely powerful and anything beyond makes you nearly unkillable. It's just this stupidly exponential curve of return as I had said and idk how to fix it :/

    someone said that increasing tick time also increases skill ceiling and i agree with that. forgot who said it tho.

    I have a build with a rate of something like 1000/10 seconds, which I thought would be pretty powerful but is hardly noticeable in a fight. And if you do the math, it makes sense; even with what seems like an absurd amount of regen, it still typically takes you several minutes to get to full health. That seems really underwhelming.

    yeah hpr is a stupid curve and really if you don't build specifically around it it just doesn't matter at all.
