Buff Chain Lightning (in A Specific Way) [25 Supporters]

    Currently, the only usage of Chain Lightning is in situations with a middling number of mobs, for extra steal potential. For heavy melee, there's no reason to ever use Chain Lightning - Quake is the dominant choice, by far, since Chain Lightning does a lot less damage*. I propose the following change:

    - Notice that the multiplier for T6/T6 Quake is 415%. In keeping with the association of thunder with variable damage, I propose having Chain Lightning's damage numbers be something like 495%, 475%, 455%, ..., down to 335% or whatever. This allows it to have a higher peak damage than Quake but not completely overpower it.
    - Secondly, note that the former could (possibly, although I'm not so sure) make Chain Lightning dominant against bosses. I propose that Chain Lightning's damage be randomized instead of continually reducing, further connecting with the variable damage association.

    This would give Chain Lightning an identity in heavy melee separate from Quake.

    * Presently Chain Lightning can allow for at best about 85% as much single-target dps as Quake on builds with the same nominal dps, and much less against multiple mobs - it's only used in the case of half a dozen or so spread-out mobs, for stealing effects on hybrid builds, where hitting more mobs far outweighs damage (and even then, Quake balances this out by being similarly more useful for stealing with large groups of mobs). To compare, 85% is about the same as the base damage difference between Stratiformis and Divzer, or more relevantly between Gert Shootstick Tossflinger and Stinger (actually that one is about 88%).

    Yes! After using thrunda...and black...and wick...thundering wind...and judas...and confernce call i've realized chain lightning isn't that great.

    Chain Lightning is already overpowered for Hybrid builds lmao, it's more of a utility than it is a damage spell, just remake Air Prison though, that shit sucks lmao
