I posted this in the general suggestions section as I do not feel it is a bug.

Currently, when gathering resources with any gathering profession, you get mob immunity on the second tick. By one tick, I mean one sound effect. In my opinion, it makes more sense to receive the immunity immediately when clicking a resource (the first tick). This is because the game demands you stand still to be able to continue gathering the resource, even though mobs can damage you. Also, for ranged mobs, their projectiles can hit you after you receive immunity. They lose their aggression, but the projectiles that were shot/thrown before the immunity still deal damage. I also think this should be fixed for the same reason, unavoidable damage (well, unless you kill all mobs around you each time you farm a resource, of course. But they can still spawn in between the first and second harvesting tick)

But if it's on the first tick it can be abusable, as you could literally just go and start mining it so you don't take any damage immediately

I see your point, but I don’t see what advantages that would have over using /class or switching servers.

You get to stay on the same server, keep quest progress and it's quicker than typing /class
